Brain says Heat in 6.

Heart says Spurs in 7. ONE MORE FOR THE OLD GUARD!

Either way it'll be an awesome series and it'll be the most basketball I've watched in months.

A Boston team has one down year before becoming a contender again. What a shocker.

Lebron would've sucked against the Celtics in the 80s. He thinks 90 degrees is bad, try 110+.

If San Antonio was smart they'd just keep the ac off for Game 2.

Post Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
Love the Heat Spurs Finals match-up so much.

Crazy how 1 G changes so much. Now Spurs look golden considering their chance to take either G4 or G6 in Miami is real solid with how they played there last 2 years and they may not even need it. OTOH Miami needing to win a second time in San Antonio in the same series is tough on them.

MIA's offseason last year hurt them between losing Miller and the Oden/Beasley signings. Signing Beasley/Oden was secretly less of a low-risk situation than media portrayed at the time. 14th and 15th spot matters. If Beno Udrih was on their team instead he would be playing and important. Still they're easily the favorites in the East next year so even if they lose their Finals, they still have a chance to be a dynasty by going 3 in 4 years or 4 in 5. The by far likely Finals in 2015 is 3rd straight Miami/San Antonio IMO. Duncan, Manu, Pop aren't retiring this year, if they lose they'll be too pissed to, if they win the mission will be to finally get their repeat

Not that it's ever his primary motivation (at least publicly), but Duncan also has money incentive to stay for another season before retiring.

I'm very hoping for Spurs to win this year, not just because I like Duncan so much and them as an organization, but also to set up a more exciting off season and hot topics going into next season.

That was one of the more impressive performances I've seen. Heat are finished. They can somehow steal G5 and they're still finished. Spurs would just go into the G6 road game pissed off and close it out.

The ONLY reason Miami won last year was because of that fucking miracle Ray Allen shot.

Gee, you'd think the Spurs were pissed off because of last year or something.

I do think that if Cleveland had a #1 pick for Love deal on the table they could present an interesting destination for LBJ. Don't know if MIN trades Love before August though enough for that to cooperate. To me LBJ's best spot to maximize his titles however is Houston. They would be awesome in the short term and have the longevity to keep contending into the 2020s since Harden's prime will last forever.

I would not leave Eastern conference if I were Lebron though. Western conference will continue to the tougher conference by a large margin in the near future, and you could reduce your minutes in east while still having 90% chance of getting the top 2 seeds. Then with a little luck, like if Mavs had beaten Spurs this year, face a weaker opponent in the finals to maximize your chance of winning the title.

Unlike most Thunder fans, I'm STOKED they picked McGary. If he gets playing time, it might become the first NBA jersey I buy.

Charlotte has to overpay to draw anybody in. I bet Utah matches though. Who else are they gonna spend money on?

Completely insane. I really thought he was just posturing to make the Heat go deep into the tax.

I always enjoy when SI breaks a story with a full article already planned out.

Happened to Jabari Parker. Interesting how they are all writing letters to SI now.

One Vegas odd now puts Cavaliers at 4-1 to win the championship next year, ahead of Spurs. That's insane. Yes, the gap between the two conferences remain big, but no way the odd should be that high right now. So what, if Cavs get Kevin Love, it will become even-money?
