Detroit gets really screwed by this. Should of had a top 8 pick and now has no pick.
I was joking. :P They went as all-in as they could this year, just for the chance to get swept in the first round. Yet they couldn't even manage 35 wins in one of the worst conferences ever. That is the kind of failure that the Kings, T-Wolves and many others have been dealing with for years, but at least they didn't shout to the mountain about how their lottery days were over. Cleveland had the worst season they could possibly have and got the #1 pick again anyways. It isn't fair at all and I'd be pissed if I was a fan of any of the 28 other teams (Charlotte fans are happy about it too).

That being said: Irving and Wiggins backcourt with a real coach mmmmmmmmmmmmm. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

It'll be Embiid or Wiggins. Parker is as much a PF as Bennett is so I can't see them taking that style of player two years in a row

Joel Embiid is likely to go first over Wiggins. Only way I see Embiid not going first is if Cleveland is really worried about his health (which is fair) or that they want to turnaround quickly (which is fair). Embiid is going to take 2 years at least to get to a state of productivity. Wiggins can contribute right away more quickly than him.
Yep, this exactly. If Gilbert had the patience for another rebuild it would be Embiid. We all know that he does not, so it will be Wiggins. They'll figure out what to do about Dion Waiters later, but this is a no brainer if they want to compete next year. That's pretty much why they drafted Bennett last year instead of Noel or Len.

One of them will disappoint. It is very rare for all top 3 picks to pan out. Even in great drafts like 2003, there was one disappointment in the top 3.

My moneys on Parker. I think he's going to end up being a solid rotational wingman but not close to a star.

I think in the end Parker will be more likely to go 5th than 3rd, teams will be wary by now after Beasley/Williams/Bennett that it's not that simple to just move these college PFs to SF on either end and just assume they'll post up enough to make up for lack of speed. Exum passing him would not be a surprise and Gordon, Vonleh or Parker (athleticism, size or skill respectively) becoming the thing would not surprise me. I think the 3 most likely picks on the board are Exum 4th to Magic and Randle 7th to Lakers

What a performance by Ibaka. And if OKC wins this series, that will go down as an all timer.

Damn can't believe this is happening again. Spurs are shook by healthy OKC's athleticism on the defensive end. I think Spurs need to go with a smaller 3pt shooting lineup like they did against Miami. Splitter is not going to work in this series

One good thing for the Spurs about last night, is they rested a lot of their starters. And Westbrook looked EXHAUSTED at the end of the game.

Spurs will be much better at home. still, its kind ridiculous that this is happening again.

Miami should try as hard as they can to close it out tonight. An Indiana wins puts themselves in a dangerous game 6 position.
I don't think they will have to try all that hard. Please put this Pacers team out of their misery.

Ballmer, former CEO of Microsoft, bought the Clippers for two billion dollars. Wow! Just two years ago the Dodgers "only" sold for one billion. The Bucks went for about $550M earlier in the year. The lesson here; being a racist drives up the price of your property.

Great fourth quarter and now we get OT. Kinda makes up for every other game being a blowout.

I think there will be a perennial all-star SG coming out of this draft, whether it's a guy like Wiggins or Exum moving to 2 guard or a surprise like Stauskas or LaVine

Post Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
There's a rumor going around that the Celtics are trying to land both Love, Melo. Someone also mentioned Tyson Chandler, but I can't find much on that.

If Ainge is able to pull that off, and extend Love and Rondo (I'm not sure what Melo's contract is)...twice, it might even be more impressive than the Garnett/Allen miracle. I'm not sure if Love and Melo are enough to win a championship like the last "Big 3" did, but they'd immediately make the Celtics contenders again.

I'm not going to hold my breath though.

I think the more likely situation is one like

BOS trades for Love

They get Asik from HOU in a cap dump, while HOU is trying to sign Melo. I think BOS can do this despite not having that much capspace because they have a Keith Bogans 5 mil+ unguaranteed contract, allowing HOU to trade Asik for him then waive Bogans for the capspace

If BOS had Rondo, Green, Love and Asik as 4 of the 5 starters I think Love could be convinced to stay because that team would easily make the playoffs, with Love knowing Ainge has many other tricks up his sleeve in upcoming years, including a possible 2016 Durant push

The main problem is I don't know if MIN would even want the Boston draft picks offer compared to a deal like GSW offering Klay, Barnes, Lee and Green. MIN might prefer a deal like that if their ownership wants to "win now" and be like the Nuggets where they trade the star and then surprise everyone with a 45 W season next year

Agreed. I've heard Asik's name come up a lot too over the past few months and the Celtics need a legitimate Center badly. It's definitely another route to look into, and possibly the best one because I'm not sure how much I trust Anthony, or even if he'd want to be here in the first place.

Compared to a few months ago, it at least looks like the Celtics have some options.
