SMH What makes that even funnier is they traded that years pick for Gerald Wallace. Tanking did them no good but they did it anyways. Yeah the pick they gave up was top 3 protected so they were trying to increase their odds of jumping up and keeping the pick, but in the end it did nothing for them

Dream matchup would be Nets (Coach Kidd) vs the Mavricks with Dirk beating his old teammate

Tough loss but predictable with inexperience
Amazed Derozan almost averaged 23ppg this year with the holes in his game/talent level

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
Spurs Mavs was surprisingly enjoyable
IMO IND is in real trouble. ATL is a really bad matchup for their D with how much more shooting centric than drive centric they are, so I don't know if IND can just win games 80-75. And IND's offense is a trainwreck, I believe they set a modern record by having 5 sub-80 pt games out of 6 a few weeks back.
Maybe it's just overreacting to how good they looked Gm 1 but I think BKN has a real chance to make the Finals. They have so many guys who can be game breakers. If BKN beat MIA in Round 2 I'd call them the favorites to make the Finals over IND and CHI

Hawks had this game for the 1st half. Too bad there was a 2nd half to play.

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
Raptors won that game bc it was at home.. need offense to be a lot more in sync to avoid 3-1... took 1.5 games more than it should've for Dwane Casey to realize Fields playing PF against Pierce is a good idea

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
Another great game. Aldridge was unstoppable in the second half, it completely killed Houston's mojo. I don't think this is a sweep, but I also don't see how Houston fights back from this.

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
Houston's GM is amazing from a cap/asset/trade/etc. perspective but maybe they are getting too cute with advanced stat-ing up their style of play (their entire team averaged like 4.5 midrange jumpers a game this year). I mean give an old school/high-pedigree coach Harden, Howard, Parsons, etc. and he's going to win a ton no matter how much he likes midrange shot, and then his team may be more versatile in the playoffs

OKC really needs a new coach. They're the supermodel with the much worse looking/lame boyfriend they've had since junior high. Time to move on.

Daryl Morey is the most overrated GM in the NBA. For those things he did tons of other good moves, to get all those assets to trade for Harden, draft Parsons, sign Beverly, etc. And the Asik/Lin contracts were good ideas at the time

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
OKC's offense is so predictable. If Durant isn't hitting shots, they can't create anything. That's on the coach, and it's why they don't improve year after year.

I'm happy that we are still getting a hell of a series out of it though. Also agree on OKCs predictable offense, they remind me of the LeBron Cavs, even with a second superstar. If only they had a third elite scoring option instead of Jeremy Lamb and Steven Adams...

Ibaka can score 15+ per game if they involve him. They rarely ever do.

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
What OKC should do: Offer Minnesota anything they want (but Durant/Westbrook) for Love. I don't think Minnesota is getting a better offer than Ibaka, multiple 1st round picks, some combination of Reggie Jackson/Lamb/PJIII/etc. for him. I mean you could make the case that Ibaka/Pek is barely worse than Love/Pek because with Ibaka there's a more complimentary mix of offense and defense. Add in Dieng as 3rd big and that's one of the most physically intimidating frontcourts in the NBA. Offense is clearly a problem on that team but try to work slowly towards IND and MEM status.
Not buying Love to the Lakers thing whatsoever. Why would the guy carrying around a "loser/never made the playoffs tag" go to a shittier supporting cast than MIN's to miss the playoffs some more? I think Love either goes to a West powerhouse like OKC/HOU or a good East team like the Wizards. Either way he makes the playoffs
