 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
I am rooting for the Pacers so no. And they have the best record against the west right now. They are looking good to be the #1 seed in the East.

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
Because of the Westbrook injury and Durant finishing 2nd the last 2 years, if OKC finished anywhere near MIA's record he would get MVP.

If OKC holds on to the # 1 spot in the much more difficult West Conf, he will win it. Another great game by KD last night.

Durant doesn't have to do anything the rest of the year. The award is his.

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
Regarding the first. If he gets injured and misses 25 games and the Thunder tank... guess who is still MVP!? Durant.
Even if Lebron goes on a "rampage", Durant's only going to slow down partially, no way Lebron would be able to make up the difference.

Walton has the record for the fewest games played and winning the MVP - 24 in the 1977-78 season. Hence why I said 25. If he misses 25 it's not happening. Anything less than that and he still has a shot. Of course with his injury history he should be fine.

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
Yeah but I think the Blazers were like 50-10 by the time he got injured and they still finished with the best record in the league. If Durant got injured for 25 Gs and OKC sucked, they'd end up like the 4th/5th seed in the West, so he wouldn't get it

Melo's 62 was somewhat impressive. Really 2.5 quarters was impressive and the rest was him gassed trying to reach the record.

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
Good riddance to Stern as a person.
Also, the Durant/Lebron 3rd quarter face off the other night was amazing.
And... the Suns beat the Pacers. Again.

Didn't Stern actually stop being the commissioner in 2007ish? What has he done since then?

The Pacers signed Andrew Bynum. He will be a backup, good move if his knees don't give out.

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
Dan Gilbert must agree with you Magnus, GM Chris Grant has been fired. Will the interim GM have the balls to fire Mike Brown? Will it even matter? Probably not for this season. Might as well tank and hope the new GM knows how to draft better. Now taking offers for Dion Waiters.

There was also talks of Lebron joining the Clippers next season. This would likely require them to trade Griffin for some cheap assets/draft picks. Still, a team with LBJ/CP3/Deandre and a bunch of role players would be scary. Though if I'm Lebron, I really wonder why he would want to leave the East. It's so much easier to get to the Finals in that conference than the West. If he's all about winning champioships, his best option is to stay in the East. And Miami is the best team in the East that has the cap space to sign him (technically, I think the Wizards could get cap space as well but I don't think Lebron would ever come to DC).
I don't think LBJ leaves Miami but if he did to HOU would be my top contender. HOU would just have to trade Lin and Asik to have the space to sign him, it wouldn't surprise me if HOU traded both those guys by the deadline to have Lebron and Melo capspace this summer. Lebron would have a much better chance at 6 titles with Harden, Howard, Parsons the rest of his career than dragging around old Wade and Bosh.

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
I would like to see the Suns trade Emeka Okafor (and his contract) for Pau Gasol.
This would set them up in a good position to possibly trade for Kevin Love this offseason.

It's that spot that JUST misses the playoffs that sucks.

Lebron would have a much better chance at 6 titles with Harden, Howard, Parsons the rest of his career than dragging around old Wade and Bosh. Asik is tradeable, but Lin is owed 15 next year. He will be very hard to trade before deadline and even hard to trade over the summer. Yeah, it's a expiring deal after this year so that's some benefit but I don't think any team is willing to take on that contract for one year for a guy who is essentially a rotation player. Houston really needs to hope that he starts to play much better in the second half. So I think it's going to be very hard for Houston to get cap space. Though if I'm Houston and Lebron says he wants to play with Dwight and the only way to make it possible is to trade Harden, I would do it. Same thing applies to Clipper having to trade Griffin to get Lebron. Asik is also owed 15 I believe Considering the cap hit is the 8 mil figure and they have to pay 15 in real money, I don't think it'll hurt Lin's trade value a ton considering he'll provide extra revenue from overseas anyways (in addition to domestic popularity) to help make up that 7 mil Also even if they couldn't trade either guy straight up HOU could just use assets like Terrence Jones, Motiejunas, 1sts, or at absolute worst case scenario even Parsons is expendable, to get themselves the room. I don't see them struggling to clear the books outside of Harden and Dwight

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
I think Lin still has decent upside on a team where he gets to dribble more like he did with NYK. Best case scenario he does what Dragic did after leaving Houston. I know if TOR lost Lowry to free agency I would be OK with getting Lin for nothing as his replacement.

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
So Wednesday night was an awesome night of basketball. So many great games (for those with League Pass or the equivalent). And the Heat/Warriors game was insane.
