The Pacers do look very good, they have a great defense.

Both Marc Gasol and Rose are out indefinitely. That's rough.

Rebuild time in Chicago.

Rose COULD become another Grant Hill.

Post Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
I see Brooklyn getting better if Deron and Lopez come back ok, but NYK could just hit the gutter this year especially if Melo misses the 10-15 Gs he always does. DEN has to be jacked for having that pick unconditionally. Lawson, Gallinari, Faried + Wiggins/Parker/Randle could be a title core. If ATL gets one of those guys with BKN's pick it also changes their entire outlook.

It's amazing that Billy King gave up a 2013 1st AND 2014 and 2015 pick swaps unprotected, while taking the insane Joe Johnson contract ATL should've been paying them picks to take - and that's after dumbest trade ever of 2012 lottery pick for Gerald Wallace. There's giving no fucks and then there's Billy King

The Cavs are showing why tanking can be not that great of a strategy. The problem is they've been horrible for last 3 years and Irving/Waiters/Thompson are still 21/21/22 and they expected them to carry a playoff or bust season as the best players. Even Utah's guys are older than that. CLE franchise and management was not prepared for how many years of development the players would need before they can win. Dion Waiters has barely played more than a season and because of CLE trying to make the playoffs already, he's getting trashed for not being good enough yet. Indiana's guys George, Hibbert, Stephenson were not expected to be stars of the team their first 2 years at all and at this point everyone should be copying IND and SAS player development (Stephenson is a pretty good comparison for Waiters imo)

Don't get carried away yet, the Pacers will challenge them. They took Miami to 7 last year, and they are a better team this year. If Indiana has the first seed, I think they can take Miami with homefield.

Post Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
I know there always has been a gap between East and West in term of conferences in recent years, but this year feels really ridiculous. There are only 4 teams in the East with positive point differentials, and two of them - Toronto and Chicago - could easily see them fall the other way soon. It's basically Pacers and Heats and nothing else. While in the West, 11 out of 15 have positive differentials, and that's without Memphis being one of them.

And yet Miami is still going to win again. Like back when Jordan & the Bulls were dominating

I think Indiana will give them another strong fight. If they can get home court it might tip the scales.

Yeah, I think it could come down to home field advantage again between Heats, Pacers, and Spurs.

I thought for sure that Miami was going to lose to the Bobcats tonight, but out of nowhere Bosh hits 3 3's.

Man the East is horrible. I thought that the Bulls and Indiana were going to challenge the Heat, now it's up to the Pacers. My thought is that whoever wins the East will have home court throughout the playoffs. The West has too many good teams that will be duking it out which will weigh down the records a bit.

No team in NBA history has ever gone 7-0 on a road trip. Warriors are 6-0 with a game to play.

Also, WTF Thunder.

Ibaka didn't play.
KD can't do everything.
Team can't shoot 3s.
Derek Fisher can't guard.
No Westbrook.

But it was the Jazz!

Anyways... How about the Suns?! Incredible. They were only supposed to win 19 games this year, in Vegas.

I wasn't expecting much from Anthony Bennett....but the dude is literally having the worst season for a #1 pick in modern NBA history. He's way worse than even Kwame Brown.

Pretty sure it's more like the worst season by any 1st round rookie in history.

The rookie performance is amazing. I think if you made a list of the 10-15 worst players in the league, Bennett (#1), Porter (#3), Zeller (#4), Len (#5, though has barely played so far), McLemore (#7) would be on it and possibly so would Olynyk (#13), Shabazz (#14), Schroeder (#17), Karasev (#19)

I read somewhere that Bennett is hitting like 16% on jumpers overall this year, which is a crazy drop considering he was known as a good shooter (hit 37% on 3s last year and even 33% in preseason). I wonder if a player loses 20 pounds+ in half a year if it screws up their balance enough for their jumpshot to need time to adjust. Or he just could be mentally trainwrecking any time he puts up a shot. I don't know how much CLE can be blamed for taking a guy in large part because of rare outside shooting for a PF, only to see him be about the worst shooter in NBA history so far. Kind of like a team drafting a player for athleticism and then having him blow out his knee. I think at some point his jumpshot starts going in like it's supposed to.

Noel could still redeem the list, but don't think he is going to be another Anthony Davis.

When an Eastern Conference team is playing against a Western Conference team, does anyone else root for the Western Conference team just so the East will have even worse records?
