"The Michael J. Fox Show" (Season 1)
Premieres tonight at 9PM with a one-hour premiere before settling in to its normal 9:30PM timeslot next week. I've seen the pilot already and it's pretty funny and charming. The entire cast is great. It's certainly the best of NBC's dire comedy slate this season (the less said about "Sean Saves The World," the better). I hope it does well tonight.

I really hope this is a hit. I mean, Michael J. Fox is a national treasure come on. Also, Betsy Brandt!

Ehhhhh, I was on the subway the other day, and the poster was on there, and some asshole was joking about it.
One goes "Oh, the Michael J. Fox Show, that's a shame about the Parkinsons" The other looks, and says "What?" First guy "He's still got it!"
I hope it's good too. Spin City was awesome, and his roles on Rescue Me, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and of course Family ties was great. If he can be just as clever and funny dealing with the issue as Curb did, it'll be a hit.

The second episode that aired last night was good as well. The cast seems to be working well together.

Liked this too. It's warm hearted. The Parkinson's "jokes" were casual and self-depreciating. Michael J. Fox is, as I said before, a national treasure. And Betsy Brandt! Yes!

The definition of cute, harmless fun. It almost feels like it came out of the 80s without relying on tired, sappy humor to get by. It came from a time when you didn't need to re-invent the wheel just to make a show fun to watch.
That said, it had major pacing problems. The first episode felt so fucking frantic. It never settled down enough. I haven't seen episode 2 yet, but I hope it finds a calm center to stay in.

The dream in bed was hilarious though.
Still, MJF on curb was the best.

Re: "The Michael J. Fox Show" (Season 1)
I wanted to like this show, but, I didn't. I didn't find it funny. Much of the "humor" was mean-spirited in nature, basically characters going around insulting each other most of the time. So, subsequently, didn't find the characters particularly likable or relatable and relationships felt forced and contrived. MJF's character was probably the most normal and likable character, followed by the character's wife.
I did like the part where MJF's character mentions how much it meant to him that the neighbor found him attractive. I found that moment human and relatable. I also liked the moment when the daughter was talking about her Dad's illness the 2nd time around (I guess it was supposed to be a redo of the failed assignment).

Re: "The Michael J. Fox Show" (Season 1)
I've watched four episodes of this, based purely on my love for Michael J. Fox and a bit for Betsy Brandt, but it's borderline awful. I didn't know it was possible to get virtually everything wrong, but they are. I don't think I've laughed once, and if it was, it was Wendell Pierce, whose presence, character, comedic timing and professional acting is out of place on a show that feels like it's put together by amateurs.
Not even Brandt or Fox himself are saving it.

Re: "The Michael J. Fox Show" (Season 1)
I don't think the show is awful, but it's lukewarm so far. It reminds me more than anything else of Up All Night: a sitcom on NBC with great actors that is generally "pleasant" but rarely that funny.
