 Re: Under the Dome
I am still enjoying this show despite its myriad shortcomings, but, holy shit, the way they introduced this new blonde-vixen antagonist is super, super lazy. "Oh, I have leverage over the two main male characters, and I just happened to hang out and lay low under the dome for a month or so before revealing my nefarious self."

That was ridiculous, as are many things on this show. Plus...is Natalie Zea making it her mission to appear on every television show currently on the air?

It's only been 11 days since the dome appeared. Not a month.

 Re: Under the Dome
I love they also seem to be 180-ing on Junior. I almost get the sense the sister is going to fall in love with him again, a term of bomb-shelter imprisonment be damned. He is just sensitive! Have we even seen the African American lesbian mother since the other died? She always just seems to be in the other room, grieving. At the end of the series, they are going to find out a door was jammed, and she starved to death.

 Re: Under the Dome
I am curious as to how faithful they stay to the book storyline. Obviously they're going to need to add a lot of things, because the book is only 9? days long.

Also, I'm in the camp of... why not just kill the new blonde chick?
Who cares about her leverage? She'll be dead. And she's annoying as hell.

 Re: Under the Dome
I feel like last night's episode was the first time this show has really embraced its campy sensibilities instead of trying to be a serious drama. I mean, that whole fight club business on top of Natalie Zea's over the top performance? lol.

 Re: Under the Dome
She went from having extreme "leverage" to ABSOLUTELY NO LEVERAGE AT ALL in one episode.
I really enjoyed that.

 Re: Under the Dome
I was unsure how to feel about Julia (or whatever reporter chick's name is) just kind of going "Oh, I totally understand why you killed my husband and you can stay around" in the last episode. I mean, I know her husband planned it that way, but still, how could she just share a bed with the man who-- --lol, oh yeah, that's why. (so hot)

 Re: Under the Dome
Decent episode tonight. A fast pace, and the storm gave everything an extra shade of menace.
Maxine is hilarious, though. "She was shot." "It's a perilous world we live in." Power strut.

 Re: Under the Dome
I liked the ending and Big Jim finally going all Snidely Whiplash on us, but GOOD GOD I get such secondhand embarrassment from how bad some of the writing is.
I don't think whoever writes the dialogue for Joe or Norrie has ever heard humans speak before. And Linda continues to be the world's most incompetent police officer.
Also, is Black Lesbian Mom still grieving off camera somewhere? Good job at portraying an interracial lesbian couple and then killing off one of them and hiding the other one in some faraway land for the entire season, CBS.

 Re: Under the Dome
I don't find the dialogue notably awful. Which is not to say it is genius, but most of it is functional enough.

 Re: Under the Dome
The Junior/Angie dynamic is also...troubling, to say the least. If they end up romantically involved again at the end of the season I give up.

I heard he murders her very early in the novel, lol. The television series sure went in another direction.

 Re: Under the Dome
How's Dean Norris? When I read the novel, I couldn't imagine anyone other than John Goodman plying Big Jim.

Although it's really jarring to watch him on a spectacular, groundbreaking show like Breaking Bad and then watch this often incredibly silly series the next night.

Last night's episode was better than usual, although I still laughed at how incredibly incompetent Linda is. Worst cop ever. She makes the FBI on The Following look like Sherlock Holmes.

 Re: Under the Dome
Well, the season finale was a hot mess of hogwash and preposterous developments.
Also, nothing on this show makes any sense. NOTHING. Big Jim progressing to attempting to hang Barbie (without a trial? or anything? um...) is aided by his theory that Julia is his accomplice. Um, what? Your story is that Barbie shot Julia. And of course dumb' ol idiot Linda, probably the closest a person could come to being mentally retarded and still be in law enforcement, believes him.
...and cue pink stars. Okay, Under the Dome. See you next summer I guess.

This show makes no sense about 98% of the time. But it's a fun watch.
