We're currently in the midst of Big Brother season, but CBS has officially unveiled the cast for the next season of Survivor, called Blood vs. Water. As has been speculated, half of the contestants will be returning players from previous seasons. The other half will be family members/loved ones of those players. The returning players are Gervase Peterson (with niece Marissa), Tina Wesson (with daughter Katie), Rupert Boneham (with wife Laura), Aras Baskauskas (with brother Vytas), Candice Woodcock (with husband John), Tyson Apostol (with girlfriend Rachel), Laura Morret (with daughter Ciera), Kat Edorsson (with boyfriend, former Big Brother winner Hayden), Colton Cumbie (with fiance Caleb) and Monica Culpepper (with husband Brad). The tribes will initially be divided into Returning Players and Loved Ones.

Redemption Island will also return this season. The season premieres on Wednesday, September 18 at 8 PM.

Survivor is always fun. I'm excited for a new season.

I like that "blood" is extended for boy/girlfriends.

Conflicted on seeing Colton return. Easily the most vile player in Survivor history, but... that's the point of a villain. When you like the villain, they're no longer playing the right part.

Nice to see some blasts from the past.

I would rather Colton not return. He is not a devious, intense, sinister, smart player. He is just a pig.

Even though it's Rupert's 4th? time doing it, it'll be cool to see him back, as well as Tina. But it's really cool to see Gervase come back. I wasn't even a big Gervase fan, but seeing a 1st season player will be interesting, considering how much the series has evolved.

I'm so not looking forward to seeing the insufferable Rupert (for a FOURTH time, good god) or the disgusting Colton return, but the rest of the returners are mostly inoffensive choices, I guess. I like that we have Gervase and Tina here to represent old school Survivor.

At least we were spared any Hantzes.

You mean you actually don't remember her? Or are you just saying she's bland? lol.

She's well-known mostly for Cook Islands where she mutinied on the eventual F4 of that season to join her friends, which caused Penner to jump ship too. She made it pretty far on Heroes vs. Villains too but she didn't do anything super memorable during the season.

I sort of like the family dynamics that will be at play here, despite the gimmicky nature of it all. I wanna see some TEARS. Mostly involving Colton.

Why do they keep bringing Candice and Rupert back? Rupert was a shadow of his former self in Heroes vs Villains and Candice brings nothing to the table. I remember Candice being sent to Exile over and over as payback for the mutiny.

Kat is hot. Glad to see her again.

I'm not the world's biggest Candice fan (she really is sort of an odd choice for someone to be returning for a third season) but she must defeat the excruciatingly irritating Rupert. I can't deal.

LOL @ them being stuck together on Redemption Island after, if I recall correctly, being enemies on Heroes vs. Villains.

I'm also unmoved so far by the sympathy pleas for Colton. He said so much gross shit the first time that it'll take me a while to warm to him, if ever.

Wasn't Rupert fairly relaxed and a bit charismatic the first time he played? I do not remember him being so insufferable.

Yes, Rupert was likable in his first season but then he became a blowhard after he started believing his own hype. He's been like this even going back to All-Stars a decade ago.

Kat vs. Colton on the boat was indeed hilarious. The whole cast seems mildly ineresting so far.

LOL. I mean, that was kinda sad, but it's also funny that poor Marissa was dispatched entirely because of Gervase's big mouth.

Oh and you guys are right on the hilarity of the Colton/Kat moment on the boat, which I didn't really pay attention to the first time. "Oh hell no!" That one line makes me firmly Team Kat, at least until the next time she says something stupid.

Wow I didn't want Candice or Rupert in the game and they are the first two on Redemption.What happened to Gervase? He used to be tough. He looked terrible in the challenge, with Aras practically having to carry him on his back.Then he has the nerve to get in the other tribes face.

Good premiere. The dynamics of the game are certainly a bit different this time around. Colton is still annoying. His boyfriend seems OK though. Which is weird.
