 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
The last episode almost made me fell asleep.
Preview for the next episode indicates Rayna and Juliette's storylines FINALLY come together. It's about time.

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
I was kind of paying attention to other things last night, and only really tuned back in when a scene involved either Rayna or Juilette. Don't care about the other characters.

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
Finally, finally, they united Rayna and Juliette's storylines. Their interplay was bitchy and full of the soap that this show needs. And the duet was lots of fun.
I still don't care AT ALL about the political storyline or Scarlett's love life but this was an improvement.

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
This show is still...weird. I guess its version of "moving things forward" is having Juliette propose to Virgin Football Player Who's Not Actually Tim Tebow, or something.
Also, the Gunnar/Scarlett thing is quickly approaching the level of tedium associated with the political stuff. Neither one of them are interesting enough to justify it, despite how amazing their song in the pilot was.
Still loving Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere. Just wish the show around them wasn't so...lurchy. Yes, I just made up that word.

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
This show has picked up the sluggish pace a bit now that Rayna and Juliette are on tour together. It's still hard to care much about any of the other characters, though. Although I like Deacon.
Also, "Wrong Song" is hella catchy.

Dunno if anyone else is still watching but last night was the best episode since the pilot. The plot is actually moving forward!

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
It's amazing how this show manages to just be OK and simply exist without being much more on a weekly basis. Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere are putting in much more interesting work than the show around them. It's almost like the drama version of how Up All Night was.

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
This is the most frustrating show on television. It has so many piece of the puzzle pieces lined up and completely fails to assemble them in an acceptable fashion. I mean, it's still no Smash or anything. But...gah.

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
Libs, did you ever watch "Friday Night Lights"? If not you should.
Connie Britton can do no wrong and Hayden Panettiere is actually great on this show, but every other storyline (especially Scarlett/Gunnar) is so boring that it brings the entertainment factor down a lot. I will never stop watching this show though as long as Connie Britton remains a regular, so I guess I'm in for the long haul.

Also, the Subway product placement last night was laughably bad. It was as bad as it is on "90210" and I didn't think anything could ever be that terrible

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
lol I guess we were supposed to be shocked by Chris Carmack's character being gay but...uh, I wasn't. I sort of called it the moment he appeared. But hey, at least that's an interesting plot development. And his nanosecond macking on Gunnar was sort of hot.
Also, not one single thing about Juliette's boy toy transitioning from "compassionate sober companion" to "hot tamale lover" to "nefarious con artist" makes a lick of sense. Not one thing.
And it's gotten to the point where I literally fast forward through some scenes with Teddy, Coleman, Tandy, or any combination of them. I don't care. This show really needs to leave the political storylines to a show that actually knows what to do with them like The Good Wife.
But Rayna and Deacon finally hooked up. So there's that.
And yes I love Friday Night Lights.

This show is so predictable.
But Juliette should be drunk in every episode.

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
This finale has a spark that has been missing from the show since the pilot. Maybe because Callie Khouri wrote both episodes.
Hayden Panettiere has been doing really great work, despite the show's faults. Definitely the biggest surprise.

...and then they had to do a car crash cliffhanger. COME ON, NASHVILLE.

I recently started watching this. I definitely understand why critics like this show! I really like Juliette the most on this show.

I'm considering starting this show as I love Connie Britton now after the first season of Friday Night Lights. Is it worthwhile?

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
Agreed with Libs. It's a decent series and they both give great performances (especially Hayden), but it does have a few issues it needs to work on. I'd finish "Friday Night Lights" first if you want a Connie Britton fix.

 Re: "Nashville"
Here's an idea, show. STOP FOCUSING on the useless characters like Scarlett, Gunnar, etc. that I couldn't give a flying fuck about so much and focus on Rayna and Juliette 100%. Hayden and Connie can actually act and are great with the material they are given, but in the season premiere this show still seems to be under the assumption that the audience cares about these awful side characters.
The premiere was decent I guess but that aspect of the show bores me to no end. I did think it set up a large amount of drama for the season to come though, so it has potential. And I liked the scene between Juliette and Rayna's daughter.

 Re: "Nashville"
Yeah we'll see how much they can right the ship as the second season progresses. I understand the show has to have some other characters besides Rayna and Juliette, but they really need to work on making them interesting. Will the Closeted Cowboy is a step in the right direction probably.
Also, OMG I was so surprised when Rayna woke up from her coma. [/sarcasm]. At least they didn't give her amnesia, which is what I was expecting given this show's total descent (ascent?) into soap opera territory.
