 2013 fall season pilot discussion
So...pilots are very inside baseball, but we can use this thread to discuss them.
Sarah Michelle Gellar has just been cast as the female lead in David E. Kelley's CBS sitcom pilot Crazy Ones opposite Robin Williams (about father-daughter ad execs). Although the project is single camera which is not CBS' bread and butter, one would think this pilot would be very appealing to the network considering the starpower.

Re: 2013 fall season pilot discussion
Thank god it's single-camera. I can love or hate Robin Williams, and something tells me that in 2013, I would hate Robin Williams with a studio audience/laugh track.

Maybe it can be a comeback for Robin Williams. It is funny he started on TV.

I hope any green screen used in that show is worthy of The Ringer.

I wonder what S.H.I.E.L.D.'s pilot rating will be. I think it can get 25 million for the first episode.

Robin Williams may be a few years too late for a TV comeback, but who knows? I hope it works.

I don't think 25 million can any longer happen for the premiere of any scripted show.

Re: 2013 fall season pilot discussion
It could, but it would need a more far-reaching appeal. The top show, NCIS, is watched primarily by older people, the only people TV can rely on anymore to watch TV live.

Re: 2013 fall season pilot discussion
I just think the first episode will be a huge event, much like the award shows or football games. It will probably drop huge the second week whether it is good or not.

Re: 2013 fall season pilot discussion
The funny thing is that CBS has the best lineup of pilots and probably the least number of slots to fill in their schedule. They already have headliners from Anna Faris, Sarah Michelle Gellar/Robin Williams, Rupert Grint, Josh Holloway, Jacki Weaver...and that's just to name a few. Very curious to see what makes the cut.

Re: 2013 fall season pilot discussion
The Anna Faris sitcom is probably a lock for CBS' fall schedule. Since they went single camera comedy crazy, I'm guessing they'll pick up two of those.

I just want Ari Graynor's "Bad Teacher" pilot picked up. I need her on my TV every week.
