Anyone watch the season premiere tonight?

I thought it was very well-done. I knew Eric Dane was leaving so I was expecting they would kill off Mark - but this was a really classy exit episode (despite the fact that he's in next week's episode too). Really liked all the flashbacks and found them very effective.

Also, the ending with Arizona was a bit of a shocker too. I wonder how this is going to be handled.

Love that Gaius Charles from "Friday Night Lights" and Tina Majorino are among the crop of new interns, though I didn't like the new one they chose to focus on tonight.

This was arguably one of the more game changing premieres this show has ever done. Since the finale now they are down three regulars (Eric Dane, Chyler Leigh, Kim Raver). I wonder if Kate Walsh will return for any episodes dealing with Mark's death since the promos for "Private Practice" (which I don't watch) show her getting a troubling phone call.

Mark's death was expected but still sad.

On the bright side, at least Arizona isn't dead! Even if she's missing a leg and all.

I was so worried she was going to be dead. I honestly never know what to expect when it comes to this show and character exits.

There was really nowhere left to go with either Lexie or Mark so I guess killing them both off makes sense. They were one of the few couples on this show I always rooted for, though. #maybethey'llreuniteinheavensocheesy

Also, side note, can you believe this thing has been on for 9 seasons now? Grey's has had so many ups and downs over that time, I almost feel like I've been through a TV show war zone...and there's still no end in sight.

Hard to believe. I still remember I started watching with the Superbowl episode then downloaded all episodes prior to that to catch up :P I've been a loyal viewer ever since and have never missed an episode.

One criticism: The "wacky hinjinks" music and Bailey being told the interns call her Booty Call Bailey while Mark was dying 10 feet away from them was one of the weirdest things that's ever happened on this show. y u so crazy Shonda.

That music was ridiculous, I agree.

Neve Campbell is joining for a multi-episode arc.

Wow... the latest episode was so good, It felt like GA at its peak. Maybe because the episode was all about Christina and Mer and no one else, but this felt so diferent from the last few seasons.

The best scene is hands down their reunion at the end, it just felt right.

This season has been fantastic so far. I'm shocked this show has so much steam left this far in. Last week's episode was great.

wtf happened here? why is this so good all of a sudden?.

This season has been the best season since the fifth. I thought we were done with the amazing Grey's episodes but talk about a comeback.

The last episode keeps the streak of great episodes alive.

Yeah, Thursday's episode was really effective and sad. I'm actually liking the new intern who is Alex's love interest, even though she is Izzie 2.0.

God, Jo is such an Izzie clone :P The last scene where she bought Alex the couch gave me serious Izzie vibes - her hair was even styled similarly :P

Yeah, she is Izzie 2.0 which I found kind of annoying, just bring back the real Izzie (I won't rant about it but really, she was such an important character in the first 5 seasons, you betta bring her back for the final season whenever that is.)

On the episode, the dinner scene was SO good.

Yeah, I know everyone on the cast and crew has their issues with Katherine Heigl, but I hope they can work through them and bring the character back for a final couple of episodes to wrap up her storyline once the show announces an end date.

Exactly, her departure was so fucked up. Why did they make her survive her illness (only 5% survival chance) to dump her midway season 6.

I will be pissed forever about that.

Finally caught up. I echo the "Jo is an Izzie clone" comments. Mostly because Camilla Luddington also looks like Katherine Heigl which makes it even stranger.

I'm really enjoying this season, though. They've kept the show pretty fresh which is a nice accomplishment considering it's halfway through season 9. Something like ER wasn't still this good this far into its run.

This is the best season since the fifth. Hell i'll go as far as saying that it's better than the season five was at this point, the only difference is the fifth got crazy good in the final episodes and i dont think thisone will o there in quality.

This one was a stepdown from the streak of great episodes, still better than pretty much any non season finale/premiere of the last few seasons.

Well, that didnt last long and this season has took a turn for the worse, the last three episodes have been more in line with the last seasons than in the beggining of this one.

Avery as the head of the Board of Directors could lead to some GREAT storylines.
