 "Nashville"
Starts this Wednesday at 10! The pilot for this is fantastic. It's my favorite pilot of the fall season and works largely because of the game performances from both Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere. I will watch every episode of this show regardless of how well it does because I love Britton so much And for the record, I think it could be a big hit.

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
Absolutely can't wait for this. The only new show this season I'm even excited about. ABC has taken Revenge to such dizzying soapy heights, I can only hope Nashville will be the same.

I am a country music fan. A huge one, in fact. So I'm pretty sure they designed this shit specifically for me.

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
Been seeing a ton of promos on ESPN. I'm not a fan of country music, but I do live about 40 miles from Nashville - so, I hope it does well.

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
I'm lukewarm to country. I can listen to the crossovers (Taylor, Carrie, Lady Antebellum, Band Perry), but not a huge fan of the true country stuff.
But I am a fan of Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere. And the show sounds great.

Premieres tonight, y'all. V. excited. Currently sitting at an 86 on Metacritic, making it easily the best reviewed new network show this season.

Can you be in love after one episode? I think the answer is yes. I envy Connie Britton's hair.

CONNNIEEEEEE
She was amazing last night, as usual. And Hayden is actually really doing well with this role thus far. I thought the second episode was great and I hope it keeps steady ratings-wise.

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
Standard ABC operating procedure. Get the quality show on the air, watch it die

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
They EASILY, year after year, have the most quality shows of any the broadcast networks but they can never successfully schedule them.

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
The critical acclaim is so insane though that I wouldn't be shocked if they kept it on. This definitely has some chance at legitimate Emmy nominations in the drama category for them.

I agree with this and I think that ABC takes the most risks with their programming out of the big four networks, which is admirable. They aren't quick to cancel their shows as fast as some think though. If I'm not mistaken I don't remember any of their drama series getting pulled last year that ended up getting canceled. All got to air at least their ordered episodes and then you had a case like "Pan Am" where an additional order was even made.

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
Great episode last night! Hoping for a ratings uptick when they are announced today.
Also, I've been pretty impressed with Hayden Panettiere on this show. She annoyed me on "Heroes" but I liked her a lot in Scream 4, and she's been killing it so far.

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
I'm still quite enjoying this show but the pacing is a little off as it progresses. The show is inevitably building towards Rayna and Juliette going on tour together or something similar, but why have there been no scenes between the two characters since the pilot?
But it's season 1, and new shows often take time to find their rhythm. This one appears to be no different.
Also, Avery is a super dick. I'm assuming they're not even trying to make him likable or sympathetic.

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
I'm really enjoying it. I think they're doing a good job of making Juliette fairly multi-dimensional instead of the villain she seemed to be after the pilot.
The male characters are fairly interchangeable though. I forget who most of them are from episode to episode.

 Re: "Nashville" (Season 1)
As with last week, I'm still enjoying this show but I don't think it's lived up to the sizzle and pizzazz (too many z's?) of the pilot. The pacing is so.slow. This was episode 5 and I still feel like barely anything has happened.
I thought the whole premise of this show was going to be the rivalry between Rayna and Juliette. While Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere are doing very solid work, their one and only scene together was in the pilot. They need to bridge these two storylines, like soon.
And that's not even taking into account the Scarlett/Gunnar/Avery triangle, which might as well be a third separate show too.
Also, oh my word is the mayoral race dull. This show could use some pointers from The Good Wife in how to make a long-running political storyline interesting.

I love Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere on this show and that's why I'm still watching. I hate Scarlett, Gunnar and Avery and tune out when they are onscreen.
