Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
Weeds has had a long run. I'm currently behind on it but it certainly isn't as great as it was in the beginning. I won't be too sad about it coming to an end. I hope they don't cancel The Big C. At the very least it better have one more season.

Apparently CBS might bring Unforgettable back for 13 episodes to air next summer.

What benefit does that have for CBS? It performed marginally well AFTER their one-two punch of NCIS programming.

Probably 2 days too late but The Killing is canned. I got tired of it being compared to Twin Peaks

Looks like "The Big C" is going to be renewed for a fourth and final season. http://www.deadline.com/2012/07/showtim ... ur-seasonsSince it looks like Cathy's cancer is back I'm curious to see what they wrap up with, even though I kind of hated the last season.

Yep, the news about "The Big C" was made official. On an interesting note though, Showtime opted to order 4 hour-long installments to close out the series as opposed to 8 half-hour segments. Production is also slated to begin immediately so it's possible they could air by the end of the year.
I like how more and more networks seem to be giving fans closure for their shows that are about to end.

Other tidbits from Showtime at TCA:
"Episodes" is probably getting a third season - they are still working out deals for the cast.
"The Borgias" will probably end after season 4.
"Shameless" will likely run for a long time if the ratings keep up. Showtime described it as one of their biggest hits since the launches of "Weeds" and "Dexter."

Oh, I guess no one posted that MTV's delightful "Awkward" was renewed for a 20-episode season three last week. Very happy about that. It's one of the most underrated shows on TV at the moment.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
"The Office" will end after nine seasons next May. http://www.deadline.com/2012/08/season- ... he-office/I'm actually happy about this, even though I've watched this show from the beginning. It's been tired for a while and who knows what the next season is going to look like already with Steve Carell gone, Mindy Kaling leaving, Rainn Wilson heading to the spinoff and John Krasinski/Ed Helms working reduced schedules to accommodate movie deals. It hasn't been that great since Carell left and it's time to end it. It had a great, monumental run. I'm actually really excited for the last episode and hope Carell returns. When this show wants to do emotional episodes it can totally succeed. The Jim/Pam wedding episode and the Michael goodbye episode were both brilliant and made me cry. I know they can pull off a winning last year.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
Up until Michael's exit, I think the show was still top-notch. Aged, yes, but funny. This was legitimately the first season where I felt the tiredness behind it. Yeah, ideally the show should've ended with Steve Carell leaving, but much of the genius of the show came from the secondary characters + Dwight/Jim/Pam.
Either way, I hope they go out with a good season.

I'm in the minority of people who still enjoy the show. I hope this is a great final season. And judging by Gervais' twitter, he's probably gonna play a role at some point.

The exact episode count wasn't announced if I remember correctly, but I think they estimated it would be around 8 episodes. "Baby Daddy," "Switched At Birth" and "Melissa and Joey" all got renewed in the same announcement, while "Jane By Design" was canceled.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
I just finished the first season (or the first part of the season) of Bunheads. Really glad it was renewed and hopefully they won't wait until next summer for it to return. I've come to love it. It took a bit to find its footing but I'm glad I stuck with it. I only see it continuing to grow.
