Re: The Dark Knight Rises OW Record Club of Tickets Now on S
Box put it best when Avengers opened, I think: Batman films break the OW record, it's their "thing." The franchise has done it four times in the past, which is just a ridiculous pedigree.
That said, even though I'm predicting it, Rises breaking the OW record would be the story of the year. Just look at how virtually every journalist mentions how it won't do it because of lack of 3D; it'd send a seismic quake through the industry.

Ultimately it won't change the trend of Hollywood releasing more and more of their tentpole films in 3D. Avengers and DH2's worldwide box office (along with the global returns for Pirates and Transformers last year) will only continue to solidify their belief that there is too much extra money at stake overseas to resist putting big movies in 3D.

Agreed, I expect 500m+ DOM and 1.2b+ IINT for the hobbit with ease, 3D is the way of the future.

It'd be kind of awesome to see three different films win domestic (Batman), overseas (Hobbit), and worldwide (Avengers). I have no idea the last time that happened, or even had the possibility of happening.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises OW Record Club of Tickets Now on S
Wait, hold on... $186-188M OW predictions are SHAMEFUL?
My gut has been saying $185M OW for awhile now and honestly, I'm sticking with it. I've got nothing against Batman, I really don't. But SM3/TDK/TA are inarguably the most attended OW's in film history and when adjusted their gross comes to around $175M (for a 2D film, which is exactly what TDKR is). IDK about you guys, but I don't think $30-40M above that figure is [reasonably] possible. At least not in today's world. Maybe in 2050 when the population allows it. This film getting a $185M OW would actually be astounding. That's a whopping $10M+ and 1M+ tickets above the highest attended OW, and if it happens the disappointment on this board would be ridiculous.
That said, there's a slight bit of hope in me that I'm proven wrong. If this seriously breaks the OW record it would be the most amazing thing in BO history, and I wouldn't mind experiencing it.

Bruce Wayne hasn't had sex in this franchise yet, right? I don't believe it's ever suggested he goes to bed with any of the models he has on his arm during the first half of The Dark Knight.

Poor Bruce. He heals enough to let another person in, and chances are she's going to end up being Talia al Ghul or something.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises OW Record Club of Tickets Now on S
I clicked on the links, and I don't really see what is so spoilery about them.
The first one under "Major spoilers" shows some dude and I have no idea who it's supposed to be. Maybe that's a spoiler, but I really have no idea who it is. The second picture shows another character that we already knew was in the film, but I guess you could call it a spoiler.
Don't read the text in the photos, though, there are definitely spoilers there.

So, where are the motherfucking reviews? Are they actually not going to come out before July 19th-20th because of that stupid non-disclosure agreement?

i agree, not really spoilery-but at the same time some are trying to avoid all spoilers, and only those following spoilers even know about about the 2 major spoiler pics as far as the first major spoiler pic, if you want to know that is a young girl, not a guy-as far as who the girl is it is a young version of Cotillard's character

Well, even then that's not what I'd call a spoiler (though I can see why some would consider it spoiler), because it's been written at imdb for a while that: there's a young actress in the cast playing young talia al ghoul.

Love that EW cover. Sets the scene well. Second one since April for TDKR.

If I ran a theatre, I would start showing Jiro Dreams by Sushi "by accident" at midnight next week.
