Yeah, Smash pretty much sucks. Let's be honest. It has never come close to living up to its potential.

NBC's best drama is absolutely Parenthood and that has been the case for several seasons now, imo.

Didn't watch it but people and critics seemed to think Friday Night Lights was more awesome than Parenthood, which is fine, but far from being among the top shows on broadcast network currently.

I wasn't really counting Friday Night Lights, which didn't air traditionally on NBC for the later part of its run (i.e. it aired on direcTV first).

Parenthood flies under the radar a lot of times but it does have a lot of critical praise. It's from the same guy who made FNL (Jason Katims) so their feels are often similar.

"Friday Night Lights" is a better show than "Parenthood," but the latter is fantastic - and easily one of the most consistently great dramas on the air at the moment.

Without having seen FNL, but first two seasons of Roswell are the best thing Katims ever did. The one and a half season of Parenthood I watched doesn't even come close.

Whoever hasn't watched "FNL" yet needs to get started immediately. It is beyond brilliant.

This summer maybe. 4 seasons might kill me this semester in college if I like it :)

Also is it a problem if I don't give a fuck about American football?

The show isn't even really about football. It's more a backdrop for the storylines.

And also season 2 isn't that bad in retrospect. It's easily the worst season but if you marathon it, it isn't like there's a huge noticeable drop in quality.

That is why I haven't watched it. I bought Season 1 because of the acclaim and because Zach Gilford is hot. But haven't watched it. I've had a hard time mustering up any enthusiasm for it because the whole God/football thing is not my cup of tea.

You should give it a shot. You're acting like the show has huge religious undertones or something, which it doesn't at all.

And I hate football and I consider it one of the best series of all time, so...

It's worth noting the Revolution trailer has over 6 million views on YouTube. NBC may have a hit on their hands.

The Event? Bionic Woman? All started great with a huge buzz. Died fast.

"Bionic Woman" is one I think most expected to fail from the start. I remember seeing the initial promos for it and laughing at how atrocious it looked.

Tossing Lost and Book of Eli is a blender. Cannot avoid that show enough.

Well yeah. But it still pulled 14 million for the premiere. And NBC is sooo good with blowing these SF shows with huge premiere's which then drop like a rock. Heck even The Cape had a nice premiere numbers. Then there's Knight Rider also which was decent compared to what NBC deals with today.

I do look forward to Revelation, it's by far the best looking NBC show, but it being on NBC makes me slightly skeptic. If you're JJ and have a good show you will want it at ABC, CBS or FOX, no? And if you don't have that good of a show, then NBC is kinda desperate for anything?

I gotta say, JJ Abrams the TV mogul is quite an overrated concept. He had one big hit, and two lackluster-yet-expensive performers that hung on for five seasons in spite of the middling (Alias) or pathetic (Fringe) ratings.

Then there's the casualties. What About Brian, Six Degrees, Alcatraz, Undercovers; some of the worst shows in recent memory.

Actually, I guess Person of Interest is a hit. But that's a terrible show thats actually proud of being a bland CBS thing, so, yeah

Alias also had some awards to prop it up. But yeah. I do agree JJ is overrated as a whole. But his name is still plastered all over and obviously the industry thinks he's big, so...

"Chicago Fire" and "Hannibal" are the only two new shows I'll be watching.
