Could be on his way to duplicate Ichiro's feat in winning both Rookie of the Year and, in this case since he is a pitcher, Cy Young. And that year Mariners set a AL record for single-season wins, something Rangers could challenge this year.

Wow, Jerome Williams pitched the game of his life, and he is our #5 starter. And Torii is beginning to really tear it up now. Now if Pujols can begin a streak.

I thought last nights game was amazing, Jered Weaver throws a no-hitter!!! This could be the spark plug the Angels need. Better yet, I was there in person to witness it.

This better not be how Mariano Rivera's career ends.

The way he's playing... if he drags Boston to the playoffs, he's getting it.

Re: 2012 Major League Baseball Discussion
Is your team a division leader? Do you want them to win the division? Sucks to be you!
The MLB is moving from a 2-2-1 format to a 2-3 format in the divisional round with the Wild Card winners opening the series at HOME.
So the incentive for winning the division is what exactly? Bragging rights? And if your league loses the All-Star game, in the best case scenario, you only get to open one series at home?
Is Bud Selig trying to kill baseball?

Is Bud Selig trying to kill baseball? The 2-3 format is only for this year due to the last minute change of the wildcard format after the schedules were already out. For next year, it will return to the 2-2-1 format due to now having more time to make out the schedules and to make sure to give the winners a bigger rest and another day of rest after the Wildcard game takes place.

Wow, this was a miracle win for the Angels today against the Spanks. Trumbo and Trout (the TNT boys) getting it done. I just hope the injury to Weaver is not too serious.

Re: 2012 Major League Baseball Discussion
AL East 1-5 separated through 3 losses now. It'll be down to anyone in the end. At least if we can be Verlander with 4 big starters out, we can beat anyone. Will be looking forward to the allstar break when Ellisbury, Crawford, DiceKay, our new closer, Pedroia and Salty are back. Will probably give us some good momentum. But overall its pretty exciting to see an entire division playing so close together.

There's absolutely no reason Lester should be pitching 120 pitches

Boston only 2.5 back now. The AL East is nuts. All five teams separated by 2.5 games. Also, Salty isn't seriously hurt he just had a stomach virus. He should be back tomorrow.

Hard to believe Toronto is involved in the AL East race, I'm not impressed by this team

Shack wrote: Hard to believe Toronto is involved in the AL East race, I'm not impressed by this team Well the division is just a mess right now. The Orioles started off hot, but really don't have much talent outside of Jones. The Rays have great pitching but no hitting. The Yankees pitching is a mess besides CC and their bullpen is a disaster this year with both Rivera and Robertson done for the year. The Jays have decent hitting but no pitching. And the Red Sox are the walking wounded right now but have the most talent if they can get healthy fast enough.

Way to go Mets, first no hitter in club history. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. And a 134 pitches!

Funny thing is that last year, someone threw a no hitter last year who's real name was Johan Santana (until he changed his name to Ervin). Also, Trout has been on fire since being called up. Look at the impact he has made on this team, especially tonight.
