I have just recently started The Walking Dead and so far it is quite good.

These two seem to be the recent huge breakout cable shows and both are getting a whole lot of acclaim and a strong viewership. Which one do you perfer, though?

LOL. GOT. TWD is purely mediocre by itself. Compare it to GOT and you get a turd pretty much. Best to keep those two separated.

The Game of Thrones is also very popular in Europe especially with it getting record ratings on Sky Atlantic. Its probably more your taste, Lecter

The reason why GOT is better, lame character don't survive too long. TWD characters would last less than the poor two Black Brothers that were left a head short in the opening scene of GOT. They're that bad.

I highly enjoy both (though neither is my favorite running television series), but Game of Thrones is definitely better. Better paced, for one, and just more involving. And obviously more beautiful, but this may not be a fair point of comparison.

With The Walking Dead, I always enjoy Andrew Lincoln's performance, and it's a well-mounted production in general, but there are times where it gets bogged down. Then it'll have an incredibly exciting, bold twist or two, and you almost forget how they spent a few too many uneventful episodes hanging out at the farm.

Game of Thrones shits all over TWD. Though good to see two huge successful genre shows.

Downton Abbey is better than both, too. Maybe The Borgias as well, though it's close between it and Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones has better characters than the Walking Dead. Tyrion is ten times better than every character in TWD. GOT has better writing, but it is based on much better source material. It also has more action, more deaths, and destruction.

And this is surely what matters most.

Actually David is right. Season 2 of Boardwalk is even better than Game of Thrones. I'm saying that as a long time devotee of the books too. I still love Thrones as much if not more, but Season 2 (and most of 1) of Boardwalk was TV at its best.
