 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
It should be interesting to see where he goes. I would love to see the Chiefs sign him, although I am not confident they will. I still wonder if the GM is still too stubborn to admit the Cassel trade was a failure. It would be cool to see him go there as it would be Joe Montana all over again and that almost worked out. I am sure Miami will make an attempt to sign him and there are a few other teams who will be in the running.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
Leave the players alone & punish the coaches & GM's that were involved. They should know better! Players will always have some kind of betting on the game in private. You can't stop that.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
Idc about the bounty hunter bonuses. It's football and most teams and/or players probably do some version of it to some extent.
I hope the Colts go on a losing streak for many years for treating Peyton this way. He's earned his money and to be dumped like this is ridiculous. I'll be rooting for him to do well in the new season. Hopefully, he ends up with a team that can really contend though otherwise it could be a long season even with him at qb.

It is pretty much the same treatment that the Niners gave to Montana. It just shows how quickly teams can turn on a player.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
A radio guy was talking about maybe Houston going after him and then they could try to trade Schaub since he has 1 year left I think. Plus, he'd get a chance to beat down Indy a couple times.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
best place for Peyton WOULD be Houston if they can get that deal done.
Skins/Chiefs/Seahawks would love to get Schaub if they miss out on Peyton

Skins/Chiefs/Seahawks would love to get Schaub if they miss out on Peyton Houston and the Niners would be the best fits because they already have great teams. But will either ditch their current QBs?

History shows when a team like SF has a breakout season, they greatly regress the next season.

The Cardinals are the Vegas favorite for where Peyton will end up. If that happens Larry Fitzgerald's fantasy football stock is going to go through the roof.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
That's the same conference where 10 and 11 wins can potentially not be good enough to get into the playoffs.
Just go to the more open conference and to a team that has actually been to the Superbowl in the past 10 years.

I rather see him help team who haven't been in there in a while like Miami or Kansas City. He has also said he prefers to stay in the AFC but won't rule out the NFC so whatever that means.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
So far the talk for Manning seems to be that he is refusing to play for NFC teams. And now it is really down to three teams Miami, Kansas City, and Denver. I am guessing he doesn't want to play in the same conference as his brother.

If he somehow went to Denver I could see him making that team leagues better even though I like Tebow and they'd have a chance to get to the SB but Miami and KC have minimal chance.

Kansas City has a great defense and a very good running game with Charles healthy. They also have very good WRs all they are missing is a QB. Cassel sucks and is one reason why they haven't gotten very far. With Manning, they would be a division favorite and could be a SB contender. And why would Denver be better than them when they only finished one game better than KC? Miami's problems are they are in a tight division. The only reason I can see him going there is because of the nice weather. Also, I should point out that Arizona and Washington both seem to think they aren't out of it and are still trying to court him.

if not Miami or Houston then I hope he goes to KC. if it was good enough for Joe Cool than it's good enough for Peyton.

 Re: 2012 NFL Discussion
Redskins trade three first-round picks and a second-round pick to the Rams for the second overall pick. I guess they're not going after Peyton.
