Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
CBS has yet to make a statement, but rumor has it that "How To Be A Gentlemen" has halted production and a cancellation announcement will be made later today.

CBS isn't saying it's cancelled, but it is moving to Saturdays effective immediately. "The Big Bang Theory" will be airing a repeat in its place next Thursday and the season premiere of "Rules Of Engagement" will air in the timeslot the week after.

To be fair, the shows that are getting cancelled are truly doing horrible numbers.

Well Simpsons was almost gone. The main voice actors all took pay cuts (almost half) for the next two seasons to go ahead.

Hmm, at some point I really couldn't see an end for The Simpsons.
No I don't expect it to last longer than 30 seasons.

No I don't expect it to last longer than 30 seasons. The fact that that number is even feasible is insane. 25 seasons, 550+ episodes. So I guess if there's ever a nuclear bomb that hits the US, cockroaches and The Simpsons will survive.

The Simpsons have been on forever. I was a kid when it first aired. I am not sure if it will continue past 25. I wonder how they will finish the series.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
Good. If the networks atleast give these shows full seasons - it atleast allows the showrunners a full season arc. And the added bonus is that the show finds an audience in the meantime.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
I added a tally bar for Episode/Script orders. Episode orders are the networks' nice way of saying "we don't hate you, but we don't love you either". Script orders are the networks' nice way of saying "let's have a little more fun before we break it off for good".

I have to imagine Suburgatory and Revenge will get full season orders quickly.

I'm enjoying it so far, but I agree that it's not living up to its full potential yet. Though all sitcoms start off a bit rocky.

No surprise, but ABC just announced they are picking up full seasons of "Revenge" and "Suburgatory."

"Charlie's Angels" has been cancelled. But in an interesting twist, ABC will air all remaining episodes.

I figured they would give it another week or two, yank it for November sweeps and leave it on hiatus until it was quietly cancelled in early 2012. The networks are tough on new shows this year. No second chances.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2011 Edition
Poor NBC. The Office is its only show breaking a 3.0 18-49 share (it's ratings are the lowest since Season 1, btw), while the other three networks have something doing that each weekday. Shows like Harry's Law, Prime Suspect or Community (sadly enough) would be cancelled anywhere else right now. Smash could do well, and they still have The Voice, but if either falter then Comcast should just cancel most of their programming and try starting fresh next year.
