The first JOHNNY ENGLISH film grossed $160 million in 2003. JOHNNY ENGLISH REBORN is family friendly and action-packed. Rowan Atkinson is still really popular in Europe, South America, Australia, and Asia. The USA gross is not a major concern for the producers. I expect a gross of around $30 million in the USA. Atkinson is still as big is in Europe as he has ever been, since the original Bean series seems to be on endless repeats in most countries. Bean 2 made 229 million in 2007. And while Johnny English lacks the brand-value of Bean, I think the trailers look really funny and quite action-packed.
