OMG YES

So now that's down to one bubble show (The Good Wife) I am waiting to hear on. Two, I guess, if you count Brothers & Sisters.

-Prime Suspect (Maria Bello drama)
-Smash (Broadway-set comedy-drama with Debra Messing)
-Whitney (sitcom with Whitney Cummings)
-Up All Night (sitcom with Christina Applegate and Will Arnett)

Up All Night: can't wait for that to be cancelled. I love Christina Applegate and Will Arnett, but c'mon... it's an NBC sitcom.

Christian Slater: the fourth time's the charm?

Chuck and Fringe: networks are finally renewing shows that I like for no reason at all! And cancelling equally-rated shows I don't like! Awesome!

Harry's Law and Blue Bloods: even old people need programming. Blue Bloods has to be a lock, doesn't it?

Parenthood: thanks NBC. Now I have another season to say "Yeah, Parenthood does look good, I'll start watching it eventually".

I wouldn't be so sure. I don't know if "comeback" is the right word, but I think a lot of NBC's pilots sound promising.

Sounding promising and even having good reviews don't mean a thing. R.I.P. Lone Star :(

NBC really needs an IT show that might not hit it out of the ballpark immediately, but will grow. Even big buzz and premiere numbers don't mean a thing if a show sucks (The Event). And mediocre show also won't work on NBC. They need ABC type of a miracle (DH, Lost, GA). And so far these shows don't look like they are up to the task.

I've heard REALLY good things about Smash, though. I don't think people expected Glee to become what it was and magic could happen here again. I mean, it does have the midas touch of Spielberg.

The script for "Smash" is GREAT. It's going to be a huge hit, and NBC is absolutely in love with it. Apparently the studio head was on set almost every day.

Yep, and apparently the entire cast is superb, especially Debra Messing as the lead. And Katharine McPhee (McPhever! lol) is said to be a breakout performer.

It is interesting to note the sheer abundance of new series both starring and created by women. Deadline has an article about how there are only 4 sitcoms on the networks headlined by women (30 Rock, Parks & Rec, Cougar Town, The Middle), but every comedy picked up so far stars women.

Variety is reporting that at ABC, "Good Christian Bitches," "Once Upon A Time" "Pan Am" and "Charlie's Angels" are all locks for pickups, with announcements expected in a few hours.

I'm intrigued as to what they'll retitle Good Christian Bitches. I wish they wouldn't change it, though.

I'm hoping they won't change it too. It's a great title. And it's definitely going to give the show additional buzz.

So apparently Breaking In is not 100% dead yet. Yay!

Maybe FOX is freaking over the downfall of Raising Hope?

What downfall? Hope pulled 2.0 out of 3.7 lead-in (it actually went up retention wise from last week when it pulled 1.8 out of the same 3.7 lead-in) and Breaking In pulled 2.3 out of a 7.1 lead-in. Last week BI pulled 2.4 out of 6.6 lead-in.

Switch the spots and Hope gets at least 3.0 with that kind of a lead-in I'm guessing...

Quote:
David E. Kelley's reboot of Wonder Woman is not going forward. Also not getting a pickup is the Don Johnson hairdresser drama A Mann's World, written and directed by Michael Patrick King. And an order for Stephen Gaghan's sprawling drama Metro is considered extremely unlikely too. This may not be the end of the road for A Mann's World, a well-received pilot, mostly for King's direction and Johnson's on-screen presence. I hear it will probably be shopped to cable networks, which makes sense as many who have seen the pilot say it has cable sensibility.

NBC just kicked off its second day of pickups with orders to Kyle Killen's Inception-style Awake (form. REM) and Chad Hodge's 1960s The Playboy Club. NBC also just picked up another UMS pilot, the fairytale-themed Grimm, which didn't make the cut yesterday but remained in contention.

As expected NBC is picking up A LOT of new shows.

I definitely think they should re-consider their decision.

It was announced that this will be the final season of "Chuck."

"The Event" and "Law & Order: LA" have both been officially cancelled.

I'm glad I stopped watching The Event then.
