B&S was a good fit with DH. Though maybe this season they should have tried B&S somewhere else since it will obviously be the last anyway. They can launch something new with Housewives next year, though by then it's going to need help of its own.

DH will be around 2.0 next season if the drops for these past two seasons is any indication. It's not a good platform for launching shows anymore.

B&S was a good fit, but it wasn't a hit. A network should never settle. Ask NBC. B&S might have been a good option for ABC for about two seasons, but then they should have tried with new shows. It wouldn't be bad if ABC found another Grey's out of DH? It's too late for that now though.

Looks like Brothers & Sisters may indeed get an abbreviated final season after all (anywhere from 6 to 18 episodes). Doesn't sound official at all, though, so it could change.

I'd rather see Calista regularly than all other siblings...

I'd almost be happier with 6 final episodes than 18. I just want the show to be wrapped up properly, it's certainly time to end it...just not with a cliffhanger or loose storylines.

I don't know where 6 episodes get ABC and where they could schedule that. I think if it gets an order it will be around 10 (like V this season).

I'd actually be fine with that. It would be disappointing if they ended this show on a cliffhanger, and supposedly this season ends with one. I'd rather have it get wrapped up nicely.

A LOT of news from FOX just came in.

The Zooey Deschanel starrer "The New Girl," which was widely considered the best pilot of the season, was just given a series order by FOX. Also picked up for the new season are the J.J. Abrams project "Alcatraz" (starring Jorge Garcia) and "The Finder," the spinoff of "Bones" which already got a tryout earlier this season with a backdoor pilot.

"Human Target" has also officially been cancelled despite speculation it might be renewed for a third season.

Any news on Mark Romanek's Locke & Key pilot?

Fox also picked up the Jaime Pressly comedy I Hate My Teenage Daughter and canceled Breaking In.

Is she reprising her role from beloved film classic The New Guy?

Fox has axed Lie to Me and Traffic Light as well. Looks like Fringe got lucky avoiding this bloodbath.

Wow, they are ending a lot. You're right about Fringe. I think if they'd waited to renew it they probably would have just ended it what with its recent drop even farther in the ratings. Hell, they might have been better off keeping The Chicago Code.

I honestly would have expected Breaking In to get another season. Sure it doesn't keep much of Idol's audience, but the numbers have still been better than they've been for other Fox comedies this season.

Next year they have X-Factor filling in for AI so they don't need a lot of shows for fall anymore... Not surprised by these cancellation news.

UPDATE 9 PM: A Locke & Key limited series/miniseries was a stretch, and it seems that it is not happening. The show is now heading to the death pile. And yes, comedy Outnumbered is dead too. Surprisingly, multi-family comedy Little In Common starring Rob Corddry and Kevin Hart, which had stayed largely under the radar, is still very much in the mix.

NBC has apparently picked up "Harry's Law" for another season (absolutely no surprise, it was their highest-rated scripted show in total viewers this season and one of their few 'success' stories - though the demo sucks).

They have also apparently axed the struggling "Law & Order: LA." I'm actually a bit surprised about this one. Its ratings are HORRENDOUS, dropping even further after the long hiatus and retooling. But considering NBC cancelled the original series to make way for this one in addition to investing so much into making it a success, I didn't think they'd let it go so quickly. This means that "SVU" will likely be the only one in the franchise on the air come this fall.

"Wonder Woman" has been given a series order. I'm curious as to where they will put it on the schedule.

It looks like most major networks are cleaning house with their struggling series - I think "Fringe" getting renewed early might end up making it one of the few low-rated shows to get a reprieve from the networks.

Forgetting CW's Monday and Tuesday shows maybe? Those 0.4-0.7 "megahits"? :P

The CW is in a league of its own :P Anything above like a 1.1 in the demo is a smash hit for them ;)

Yeah. I looked forward to Locke & Key too. But I have a feeling that a cable company could pick it up.

Apparently this was just a rumor, and the only truth to it is that "Harry's Law" will be renewed :P The other two are up in the air, and Variety is saying "Wonder Woman" might be DOA.

Meanwhile, they are expecting "Chuck" to receive a 13-episode pickup as well as orders for new series "Smash," "Alpha Mom" (both locks, and have been for months), "Prime Suspect," The Playboy Club" "REM" and a few others.

I'm surprised NBC is even doing Wonder Woman. Bionic Woman wasn't enough for them obviously.
