OMG
That killed me! So sad and out of left field. Poor Marshall. "I'm not ready for this." AHHH.

Fantastic episode tonight!
Perfect mixture between drama and comedy. Marshall's rant was really sad but turned into very touching.
Also, "I really really love you guys... and I'm going to take a deuce."

Ummmm, I was sooo disappointed by this episode. The whole last words thing felt a bit stupid. And the voice mail gimmick was so predictable and felt really cheap. Pity.

That's too bad. I really enjoyed it. A lot of great lines in the episode.

I really enjoyed it. Such poignancy and the relationships between these characters feel so real after all these years. I'm glad they went into darker territory with this storyline.

Re: How I Met Your Mother - Season 6
So I don't really see CBS airing 2.5 Men repeats through its hiatus especially by the extra episodes ordered for Mike & Molly and Rules of Engagement. So something has to move into that spot. Could HIMYM finally get that 9 PM spot?

Re: How I Met Your Mother - Season 6
Another really good one tonight. Katy Perry's clearly limited acting rage wasn't a detriment, thankfully. "Oh honey."
And I'm warming to Zoey. The hallway scene where Ted and Zoey REALIZED THEIR LOVE FOR EACH OTHER OMG was kinda obvious but kinda romantic at the same time. You know, trademark HIMYM.
Plus the whole plot device with Marshall being on the phone (and his mother and brother are so cute and funny and I want them on the show forever) was cute.

Levy wrote: Brilliant episode. Probably the best of the season Oh honey! Good episode. I wasn't annoyed by Katy Perry because she played a dumb bitch and that's exactly what I think of her, so HIMYM 1 : 0 KP. I still don't like Zoey. And the relationship between her and Ted wasn't handled well throughout the season so I was meh on them finally getting together. But I loooooved how the whole episode was one phone call after another. One of those unique HIMYM touches.

Re: How I Met Your Mother - Season 6
Another awesome episode!
Lily and the body pillow. Barney as Predator. So good.
Also, Marshall's reflections on his dad driving=awwwww. This storyline continues to be so poignant.
Did anyone else watch Mad Love right after this? It was pretty cute and the actors are all pretty good (especially Judy Greer), although it was so similar to HIMYM that it was kind of jarring. And Sarah Chalke being on this show didn't help. I'll still keep watching though.

I liked 2021 Ted.
It was definitely nice seeing The Captain back though I have a feeling this is the last we'll see of him.
I also really enjoyed the Barney/Robin storyline this time.

Re: How I Met Your Mother - Season 6
Yay Ted and Zoey aren't going to last and it's going to be an ugly end, according to 2021 Ted. I was starting to warm up to Zoey more but I don't really see much chemistry between Josh Radnor and Jennifer Morrison. And yes, Kyle MacLachlan has been enjoyable as The Captain.
I enjoyed Robin being so supportive of Barney relationship-ing it up.

Re: How I Met Your Mother - Season 6
Really enjoyed this episode. I didn't realize how much I was rooting for Barney and Nora until I was shouting at the TV screen when he walked away at the end. Although she actually seems better suited for Ted? I don't know.
Also, Scooby the Man Dog was amusing.

Re: How I Met Your Mother - Season 6
I really hope the wedding is Barney and Nora's. They work so well together and that's what made the ending so sad.
I loved Barney "unless the woman is hot" routine.
Also, the return of Lily's "you son of a bitch"!

Re: How I Met Your Mother - Season 6
Another two seasons? That seems ridiculously unnecessary and I would hope with that kind of time they don't drag out the meeting of the mother until the end, but then again I've never loved this show. It's always just been kind of amusing to me. Seriously, though, from the dad-telling-his-kids-a-story POV, there's just no way in hell it takes ~180 episodes worth of "story" to convey how he met their mom

Re: How I Met Your Mother - Season 6
Friends was about a group of people living in NYC, doing nothing in particular. Like a more sitcomy, Seinfeld-lite. This show, from the friggin' title on down, is about a very specific thing. Or at least, started out as about that and is now not so much even though it's kind of shoved down your throat regularly enough to not just let it go and enjoy the ride (if this is entirely one's brand of humor, anyway). It's as annoying to me when people act like meeting the mother is somehow totally irrelevant to the plot as it is to the more passionate fans of this show when people bring up the "so, about that mother...?" issue. And, meeting this inevitable mother might be more irrelevant to the plot and give more credence to the various "it's about the journey, man" stuff that I would absolutely agree with if the show itself weren't constantly dropping pointless clues and whatever (The mother walked by the bar with a yellow umbrella! The mother was this random girl's roommate! The mother was in that class Ted accidentally taught!) that end up being more and more meaningless the longer the show lasts. I thought Ted bumping in to Stella after they broke up was supposed to be greatly important? And what ended up being the point of the goat? Or Ted's newest time-waster of girlfriend? If every single thing Ted ever experienced was so relevant then maybe he should've started the story back when he had his first tingle down below in relation to a lady, or his time in kindergarten. What did womb-Ted think of marriage and love, I wonder... It just seems a little like Lost once you realize the writers/creators kind of had no idea where they were going with this premise--or at the very least, that even once they had an end in mind they still had to keep wasting time on fluff until they finally got around to, y'know, ending. End rant, enjoy your show

Anyway, 2 years isn't that big a deal but as you know they are putting off Ted to the End of the Last Season...than maybe they should move ahead and tell what happens with Marshall/Lily their having kids and more importantly Robin and Barney's Life. ***** But I remember one episode, where I think Ted Brought the House, that they said Robin got to Leave seeing like 20 places as a Journalist, so it should be interesting how she ends on the show?

So basically they're saying that if the cast still wants to do it, they'll go past Season 8 http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox ... e-end.html

End rant, enjoy your show While I like HIMYM (although my interest is declining), I've always thought the basic storytelling premise was a mistake as it boxes the show in a corner, and agree with a lot of what you said. It just creates too many "doesn't make sense" moments, even for TV. From Bob Sagats voice (why did Ted's change?), to consistency on what he'll tell his kids (will tell them of Barney's sexual exploits but not of a couple having sex living above them or that they smoked pot), and just the logistics of telling them every mundane detail that has no bearing at all to the overall narrative. Plus, they have to be boxed in at this point with the footage of the "kids". It's not like they can film new footage of these kids 8 years later. I like the core show - the actors, characters, and it has decent writing. Ultimately it's a good watch, and I'm not sad it's going on longer. I just can't figure out why they added that particular layer to the show. If they had to go that route, they should've just had a quick voice over at the start of the pilot, "kids... let me tell you the story of me growing up in Manhattan and meeting your mother...", then drop it til the end (or something like that).
