Newton reminded me of Kobe of last year's NBA finals ... did nothing the last game but ended getting lauded and praised anyway. They said Newton would be a 1st rounder ... but by who? Mid 2nd round seems more appropriate.

Yes, Fairley was great (though had a few dumb penalties ... but can be coached). Kirk H compared him to N. Suh. He was great, but I still think Suh was more dominant. Suh should have won the Heisman. Fairley wasn't that good though he can play into a dominant stopper.

I still think that one of the most understated plays was the stop on the log pass play that prevented a touchdown for Oregon. The announcer even said "TOUCHDOWN!!" and he looked like he was going to score. And what ended up happening? Turnover on downs. If he scores, obviously the outcome would have been different.

Hasn't Vick's dominance and the new QB protection rules made Cam Newton a valuable asset? He'll definitely be taken before Locker, and possibly even the 2nd QB if Mallet falls. He'd fit #8 Tennessee's system pretty well...

I'm disappointed that Oregon lost. Now there will be no real national champion in football a few years from now when Cam Newton gets exposed and refuses to return his Heisman.

I'm glad college football season is over. The bowl season was pretty uneventful except for 2 games that I cared to watch and that was the TCU Wisconsin game and OU Connecticut game. My preferred teams won both of those contests.
