Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
Intresting to note that this team did not clinch the division until the last day, and hardly lead the division all year, until the 10 game collapse from the Padres. Anyone who can make up that much ground throughout the year deserves to win. Nice Underdog story here.

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
Boy some horrible Texas batting averages in the series.
As most don't even hit 200.
And sorry Scottie but Vlad hit like .070 in the series.
So bye bye baseball and let's get onto some Yankee free agent signings to improve the team.

Another team that got hot at the end of the year.
Maybe there should only by 16 games like the NFL.

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
The Giants won 92 games, much better than 2006 Cardinals' record of 83-79. They did not make the post season by luck or by in a weak division. In fact, they won more games than the Rangers and had a better run-differential during the season. This is a better team than people are giving it credit for, and with their young pitching, they're here to stay for quite some time.

The first championship in S.F. Giants history. That's pretty sweet.

I think it will be remembered for the first WS for the Giants in San Franscisco. It has been a long time for the Giants. Now the Cubs and Indians have the two longest streaks left.

Grill wrote: Price wrote: I'm rooting for the Giants just because they are not the Yankees. Well Loser. Things worked out perfectly for the Yankees the last 2 years. 2009. Best Team in Baseball and World Champions. 2010. Basically, the best team in baseball through the whole regular season. Unlike the injuries finally took their toll. Destroyed the Twins in the playoffs with a 3-0 sweep and then lost 4-2 in the Championship Round. Anyway, if the Yankees lucked out and won the WS in 2010, the ownership might have been fooled into not upgrading the team in 2011. Especially since standing pat in 2010 turned out to be a mistake. So can't wait to see what 2011 signings the Yankees make to improve their team. and Price, How many teams are assured of the playoffs next year. But I bet the Yankees will be there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
So as I said, the Yankees are looking at Lee, Crawford and Benoit for an 8th inning set up man.
And as I said, glad that losing might make them spend more.
And LOL, even if they don't get the above guys, they will at least drive the price way way way up for anyone else who wants to bid against them!!!!! LOL
PS. Wondering if you guys are still laughing now or as next season starts.

Grill. Every year the Yankees lose is a great year. The amount of money they spend, they should win EVERY year.

LOL at you bitching as the past Texas owner started pushing up salaries with ARODs 250 million dollar deal. And the Red Sox 200 Million to Manny. Anyway, at least 2 teams as the Red Sox are the same as the Yanks.

I am too tired from the day and proving you wrong always... So I will leave this for you to change the above. Whenever I look at those numbers, they are always wrong. So does that report have every player who played for them during the whole year at their prorated salaries for games played while on the active roster.
