Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2010 Edition
Oh, and "Running Wilde" has been pulled off the schedule for the remainder of November sweeps. "Raising Hope" reruns will fill its timeslot for the next two weeks. All 13 ordered episodes have been completed and FOX almost definitely isn't ordering more, but I'm pretty sure they will at least end up airing all of them.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2010 Edition
Running Wilde looked terrible. Give me Arnett and Russell all you want, but one bad promo picture (he's holding a glass of wine, she's holding a reusable water container... oh let the hilarity of two opposites sweep you off your feet!) ruined it for me.
I liked the Good Guys pilot. Haven't watched it since though since it was DOA from the start. But somehow, 20 episodes have been made? I just don't get it. Friday night is where the crap goes. And maybe it is a crap show. But why put money into a show you don't plan on giving a real shot?

No surprise. Ratings have been surprisingly weak this season.

LIFE UNEXPECTED certainly won't see another season, which was kind of expected . Instead of releasing the first season on DVD this January as planned, they decided to release "The Complete Series" in April. http://tvshowsondvd.com/news/Life-Unexp ... ries/14759

ABC officially renewed: Castle Cougar Town Grey's Anatomy The Middle Modern Family Private Practice http://www.deadline.com/2011/01/abc-giv ... ix-series/The article also speculates that DH missing could signal a potential end of series?

These were all no-brainers except Cougar Town, which I am so happy has already been renewed.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2010 Edition
Even CT (as much as it wastes its time slot) was a no brainer considering ABC hasn't launched a single new show this year worthy of a renewal. Detroit 1-8-7, No Ordinary Family, Better With You are 3 of their lowest rated shows. Pair that with The Whole Truth and My Generation and that's 4.5 hours they need to replace even without canceling any of their non-freshman shows.

I think DH's renewal depends on all of the actress signing up for another season I'd love to go for another season but I wouldnt really mind if this season is the last.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2010 Edition
So happy that "Cougar Town" has been renewed for another season. It's blossomed into one of television's best comedies. I was a little concerned when I heard "Mr. Sunshine" would be taking its slot for a few weeks but this is a clear indicator that ABC has faith in the series. Others were expected, though I think "Grey's Anatomy" will end after next year due to the actors' contracts expiring and Pompeo stating she is quitting after season 8. I think "Brothers & Sisters" is done after this year (if not it needs to be). I expect "Housewives" to be renewed but on the off chance it isn't this seems like a season they could end it with since both Paul and Zach Young have returned from the first season already to tie up their storylines. It probably won't happen but I hope "No Ordinary Family" gets a second season Rumor has it that ABC wants to have another night of comedy as well so I wouldn't be too surprised if despite the low ratings "Better With You" got renewed. As long as it's pulling above a 2.0 in the demo I think it's safe.

I could see a Cougar Town/Mr. Sunshine mash-up at 8PM on Thursdays next season.

No surprise, but ABC Family's smash hit "Pretty Little Liars" and their flagship show "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" have been picked up for second and fourth seasons, respectively.

As per The Futon Critic, "Raising Hope" has been picked up for another season. I loathe the show, but I'm not surprised given the good ratings.

Awesome news. Raising Hope is the only new broadcast network show that's actually any good.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2010 Edition
I'm sure it will be. It's so close to 100 episodes at this point and despite the horrible ratings its still one of their "flagship" shows that generates a lot of revenue in DVD and international sales. They'll want it to at least reach syndication numbers.

Ha, I was wondering the same thing last night about Gossip Girl.
This list is too much to control now. Too many shows on the bubble.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2010 Edition
Gossip Girl doesn't sell well on DVD - like at all. CW's biggest DVD sellers are Smallville and Supernatural. Followed by The Vampire Diaries... 90210 doesn't even show in the charts - not season 1, not season 2 and by looking at the least sold DVD on its release weeks, Season 1 DVDs sold less than 18,000 units and season 2 units sold less than 21,000 units.
According to the-numbers (though only estimates, they're still basically the only source):
Smallville 262,710 (last tracked week of sales - week 3 with sales of 41,977 units) Supernatural 248,876 (last tracked week of sales - week 2 with sales of 55,049 units) The Vampire Diaries 208,095 /last tracked week of sales - week 3 with sales of 28,800 units) One Tree Hill 130,236 (last tracked week of sales - week 3 with sales of 22,503 units) Gossip Girl 87,134 (last tracked week of sales - week 2 with sales of 23,075 units)
Gossip Girl was NEVER a ratings hit or big DVD seller, despite CW promo machine being full force with it (and making some believe that). I doubt anyone is going to pay significant cash for syndication. It has 0 repeat value. That being sad, CW doesn't have much choice. It's being forced to renew GG solely on being a huge and complete fail as a network.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2010 Edition
"90210" DVD sales don't surprise me, I never see it for sale at any actual store And I feel like "Gossip Girl" does sell well to international markets, which is why it's stayed around. I think they should wrap it up after season 5 though. It's been such a mixed bag since the end of season 2. Season 3 had a couple of good episodes and a GREAT finale but was disappointing as a whole, and Season 4 was on fire with the Katie Cassidy storyline in the first half of the season but has become stagnant again. The only CW shows I see as "on the bubble" at this point are "Hellcats" and "One Tree Hill," with "Nikita" being a possibility. Apparently the season finale of "One Tree Hill" was written as a series finale and the actors' contracts are up after this year.
