This was known about a month ago.

The World's #1 Golfer is just one shot off the lead in Shanghai after the completion of the first two rounds of the WGC- HSBC Champions tournament.

Lee Westwood is sitting at -8 and the leader at -9 (who's been playing some mighty fine golf this week) is Francesco Molinari.

Standings remain the same after day three - - Molinari is at -14 and Westwood is at -13.

Why do you care about a random event in Asia?

It's one of the four annual WGC events, which means it's one of the top ten premier golf events of the year just below the majors. The cream of all the world's professional golf tours (European Tour, Japan Golf Tour, Asian Tour, Sunshine Tour, PGA Tour of Australasia, and PGA Tour) play in the four WGC events. It's officially sanctioned by the PGA Tour and the winner gets to play in the SBS Championship in Kapalua in January. (So, as to my particular interest in watching this tournament (beyond seeing some of the best golf of the year), was that this was Cheetah's last chance to qualify as a "winner" this year. Fortunately, he proved himself the loser he is by finishing 12 full strokes behind the winner! I love tracking that baby's descent before he completely craters next year!!! )

Final results: Lee Westwood continued to chase Francesco Molinari right down to the wire - - with Molinari finally pulling out the win with -19 to Westwood's -18. A very exciting match between the two all weekend long!

Not the PGA tour, I know chip, but interesting to note that it's now been over a year since Cheetah's last win. He just lost this year's JBWere tournament in Australia, the site of the final win of his career back in 2009.

Tiger looks good for a win this weekend at the Chevron World Challenge.

He currently sits at -13 after two rounds (first round 65 and second round 66) and is four strokes ahead of second place Graeme McDowell.

Joke tournament. That he can get to number one with a win is laughable (Luckily Westwood is winning is joke tournament as well)
