I also suggest we do an auction. Drafts are boring.

Re: WOKJ 2010-11 NBA Fantasy Basketball
Great fun last year, definitely looking forward to playing again this year!
Already know can't make that auction time but don't mind presetting max bid values ahead of time.
Not a fan of the minutes category, it's always decided by which roster have more injured players. When your key players get injured, you are already disadvantaged in 7 counting categories, so there shouldn't be one more category you're almost guaranteed to lose.

Re: WOKJ 2010-11 NBA Fantasy Basketball
Okay, got rid of the minutes. Do you want seperate categories for assists and turnovers or just assists/turnover-ratio. I think the latter is more interesting since most of the times it would just split the score, one team gets assists, the opponent turnover

Re: WOKJ 2010-11 NBA Fantasy Basketball
I'd go with assists/turnover ratio as well.
Auction draft? That's going to be interesting. I wonder how high people will spend on the top picks, and if there will be any money left for the later rounds.
Still see Durant, CP3, and Lebron as the top 3 fantasy players, but look out for Stephen Curry. He is top 10 worthy this year.

Re: WOKJ 2010-11 NBA Fantasy Basketball
I have a question about auction process:
Say my max autobid is $20, but the next highest bid is $15. Does that mean I get the player at $20 or $16 if I'm using autobid?

Your autopick will bid as high as the individual dollar amount you put on the player so far as I know. Say you have Durant at $55. The autobid will keep going until somebody else bids $56. I've never set a max autobid, but I assume it will work the same way.

Re: WOKJ 2010-11 NBA Fantasy Basketball
From my experience: The bod will at some point bid close to your max amount.
I had an auction yesterday to test how high those will get. LeBron went for 65, Durant as well, Paul for 64, Nowitzki for 58, Wade for 53 and Kobe for 49

Re: WOKJ 2010-11 NBA Fantasy Basketball
Wade was the cornerstone of my team last year, but he was the Heat team. I don't think he is worth that much this year with Lebron and Bosh as well as his own injury. Kobe's injury kind makes me reluctant too, considering Lakers is likely to save his minutes for playoffs.
I wonder if a good strategy is to nominate lower-tier players first when people are still deciding and wanting to hold onto the money for the more prominent players.

Re: WOKJ 2010-11 NBA Fantasy Basketball
i did a mock putting $199 for Kevin Durant just to see, ended up getting him for $75. I'm sure that $75 will not be enough to get him in our draft, given how much better he is than the #2 player.
Assist/turnover sounds good, that way just 10 categories total which is a nice whole number.
