Penn State sucks. Arkansas is over rated, Florida sucks, and South Carolina was THIS WEEKEND.

Game 1- San Jose State
Game 2- Penn State
Game 3- Duke

Really? REALLY?

Boise beat up VTech and Oregon State.

And something nobody talks about... the SEC is EXTREMELY over rated this year. EXTREMELY.

I believe that distinction actually goes to Oregon State.

09/04/10 vs. TCU #4 Arlington, Texas L, 30-21
09/18/10 vs. Louisville Corvallis, Ore. W, 35-28
09/25/10 at Boise State #3 Boise, Idaho L, 37-24
10/02/10 vs. Arizona State Corvallis, Ore. W, 31-28
*10/09/10 at Arizona #17 Tucson, Ariz. W, 29-27

*Arizona was ranked #9 at the time

The BCS is the worst thing in the history of sports. Right ahead of college football pre-season polls.

It'd be bullshit if Ohio State was ranked 5 like projected. They deserve #1. Only Oregon has a case for #1.

Ohio State deserves nothing. Have they played a single team worth a damn yet?

I agree BCS is bad but it's not the worst. The worst would be the old bowl system because then Boise and TCU would really have no chance. At least they have a schmidgen of a chance now.

The pre-season polls are good/bad. Would Boise be ranked so high were it not for pre-season polls? Or TCU for that matter? Probably not.

Ohio St has had a cakewalk so far.

Thu, Sept 2 vs Marshall W45-7 1-0 (0-0)
Sat, Sept 11 vs #12 Miami (FL) W36-24 2-0 (0-0)
Sat, Sept 18 vs Ohio W43-7 3-0 (0-0)
Sat, Sept 25 vs Eastern Michigan W73-20 4-0 (0-0)
Sat, Oct 2 @Illinois W24-13 5-0 (1-0)
Sat, Oct 9 vs Indiana W38-10 6-0 (2-0)

The 2nd half of their schedule is much more difficult.

Ugh. I was at ESPN and this stupid freaking ad starts playing a video of an Outside the Lines panel and this bald fuck face must be an SEC or Alabama alum because he was shitting on the TCU and Boise calling them inferior teams.

Hello, McFly...has he not even seen past history? How many fucking times do teams have to prove themselves. Jeez Louise.

I was thinking the only way that a team like Boise and TCU will get their is if maybe they just join together and boycott the bowls the day of the bowls. Cause them to lose money by having no game. Enough of this and this SEC propping every year is getting so annoying.

Boise is, imo, far and away the best team in the country. Almost all seniors, Heisman worthy QB, great defense.

Post Re: 2010 College Football Season
So, Boise had the hardest schedule of all unbeaten teams. Yet AP and Harris voters rank them only #3? Talk about bias...

I thought this one from ESPN was a fascinating read
Quote:
Boise State (11) is No. 3 in the USA Today coaches' poll and the Harris Interactive Poll. TCU (12) is No. 5 with USA Today and No. 4 with Harris.

Yet by BCS computer average, where laundry is not taken into account, these two schools rule. The Broncos are No. 1 with two computers (Sagarin, Massey), No. 2 with Billingsley, No. 5 with Colley and No. 6 with Anderson. (The sixth, Wolfe, has not yet released its rankings.) TCU is No. 2 with Sagarin and Massey, No. 3 with Colley, No. 4 with Billingsley and No. 7 with Anderson.

All five computers have both Boise and TCU ranked higher than the consensus 1-2 in the polls, Ohio State (which is anywhere from sixth to 15th) and Oregon (fourth to 10th).

The Dash understands that those computer numbers may well change, as strength of schedule ebbs for both the Broncos and Horned Frogs. But as of right now, they're both being dissed by voters in favor of Establishment teams.

Boise continued to lose ground to Ohio State and Oregon in the USA Today poll. The Broncos slipped from 101 points behind the Buckeyes to 120 behind, and from 24 points behind the Ducks to 53 behind.

TCU suffered the same indignity. It slipped from 190 points behind Ohio State to 242 behind, and from 113 points behind the Ducks to 175 points behind.

Based on what, you ask? Here's what:
Oregon beat Washington State by 20.
Ohio State beat Indiana by 28.
Boise beat Toledo by 43.
TCU beat Wyoming by 45.

The laundry loyalists either decided that there simply was no way the sudden Alabama power vacuum at the top was going to be filled by outsiders, or they decided that beating Washington State and Indiana was more impressive than beating Toledo and Wyoming.

The latter possibility overlooks the fact that neither Indiana nor Washington State has accomplished anything this year. Average computer rankings for those four, as of this week: Toledo 57.2, Wyoming 68, Indiana 83.2, Washington State 94.8.

Bottom line: Boise and TCU had more impressive victories than Oregon and Ohio State, but were penalized anyway. You cannot objectively dismiss the Broncos and Frogs for the schedules they've played so far, but objectivity isn't getting much run in the notoriously nonsensical coaches' poll.

(That can also be seen in the treatment accorded to Oregon State (13). The Beavers have played an incredible schedule to date -- at Boise, at TCU, at Arizona. They lost the first two in respectable fashion, by a combined 22 points. They beat then-No. 9 Arizona on Saturday. Their reward? No ranking, and fewer votes than a Texas team that has been a flaming disappointment so far.)

Sorry, but Ohio State undefeated would NOT be more impressive than Boise undefeated. They're schedule has been a joke (love the one computer who currently has them behind Delaware) and it isn't getting any stronger. They lead the standings by reputation, not by achievement

The irony of this whole Boise/TCU discussion is: Last year they were ranked high because of the polls and everyone was arguing how the objective computer stats should be the real measurement for ranking. Now that Boise is leading the computer stats the apologists are saying that the human factor is the far better measurement.

Here we go again.

It looks like no Big 10 team is going to the championship game now.

I'm happy Nebraska got beat. Muddy them waters. OU is in fine position to take advantage of all this mess.

I'm hoping Boise gets alot more #1 votes this time because if they are #3 Again...idk. I may puke.

Oregon is such a phony #1. They have no D. They will be beat. I'm thinkin' Oregon St. takes'em out.

South Carolina lost so at least they can play spoiler.

Here's a nice article about if the computers really matter when it all comes down to it. It's a bit depressing though since it's still all up to the voters in the end in addition to all their bias.

http://bcsguru.blogspot.com/2010/09/do- ... atter.html

Quote:
Since the adaptation of the current formula, in 2004 after the hue and cry over the 2003 split championship debacle, every single team that ranked either first or second in the two human polls (AP in 2004, Harris since 2005, and the Coaches poll) played in the BCS national title game.

Let's take a look: (Coaches-AP/Harris)

2004: USC (1-1) vs. Oklahoma (2-2)
2005: USC (1-1) vs. Texas (2-2)
2006: Ohio State (1-1) vs. Florida (2-2)
2007: Ohio State (1-1) vs. LSU (2-2)
2008: Oklahoma (1-2) vs. Florida (2-1)
2009: Alabama (1-1) vs. Texas (2-2)

It's a perfect 12-for-12. If the BCS formula never existed, these teams would've still met for the title anyway.

Top 5 should be:
1. Boise State
2. Oregon
3. TCU
4. Oklahoma
5. Michigan State

People want a PLAYOFF. The reason the "BCS" was created was to minimize the polls. When it really just makes matters worse. It's ruining college football.

There should be NO polls until all teams play 5 games. Then a 16 team playoff.
