Post Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
As Chico has said, Baseball has been berry berry good to me.

* Yankees Rule Baseball.

* And people remember one of my earliest predictions. I asked who would win a Yankees Phillies World Series? As well as correcting a Red Sox fan who stated the Red Sox would win the division. I said, Nope. The Yankees should be 1st over the Red Sox. And the Red Sox pitching isn't that good. Boy, was I right on that one.

And Gun as I have seen you on KJ here for a couple of nights in a row, without you posting here anymore. Guess that confirms that I was right. You are only a sad Red Sox Lover and a NY Yankee Hater. And surely not a baseball fan. Or one that backs his picks anymore as they all turned to shit.

PS Gun, You ever going to update your little chart.

Ha, I'm working for 3 days only with limited time to post and you say that much. I do have a life outside of KJ Gril, I'm in a big transition with a new job, and working on a TV show right now.

All I can say is everything you just said is bull shit. You've still only won one series, TB will be decided tonight.

And sorry but as you have been very arrogant in the past, with your insults and your, I have never been wrong.

Just waiting for everything you said to be wrong.

* The White Sox will overtake the choking Yankees for the playoffs.

* The Yankees won't win more than 7 games or 2 series. (LOL, just realized you expected the Red sox to win either 2 or 3 games in both the upcoming series. LOL. )Still have only won one series, and 6 games. Anything can happen, even if they pass it, they have not been playing good at all for at least a month.

* The Yankees won't go far in the playoffs, if they make the playoffs. (Warned you made this too early and you didn't take Pettitte into account.) Still agree as both Texas and Minnesota are playing better than the Yankees and Rays

* Granderson is average. He still is just average, he's just playing better than average for him, no hall of fame in his future

* The Red Sox are a top 5 team and will be #1 in 2011. Outside of the top 3 teams, they are just a game or two from being #4 in the AL. So Right again. They have been in contention almost all year and have been the most disadvantaged team all year so I don't really know what you are arguing, Winning almost 90s games when the season was kissed goodbye in June when Youkilis was confirmed out all year, is pretty amazing with 5 starters gone all year, another 5 great players hurt for multi month periods. There is no argument here. Oh wait you'll say the Yankees were missing Arod for a month

* Slightly the Yanks for beating Baltimore by only a run. Well now Baltimore just took 2 at Fenway.

* Paps is one of the best. (Not with his horrible ERA this year of 3.50+) A top 5 closer if one of the best so I am correct, and has the 4th most number of saves this year, higher than Rivera. You can argue Rivera has less because the yankees have contributed higher leads, which is true but that brings it back to the injuries on the sox not being at 70% all year. Hell I'd love to be at just an injured Yankees state this year

* and that is just some of the better ones. O Mr. I am Never Wrong. I have yet to be wrong, I may say opinions, but my predictions have all been right. Saying I hope or wouldn't be surprised if the Yankees choke and the WS take over is not the same as I predict the Yankees won't make the playoffs

PS. Just forgot to update your little chart. Even if it isn't as important as mine which has the Red Sox and White Sox like 9 and 12 games behind the Yankees.

And haha, thanks for the further proof of your obsession with me going back 4 months of posts. Most of them are more like observations and evaluations than predictions of things to come. Your problem is that you can't distinguish. Here is the chart for you, is it so impossible for you to update on your own. Again gril with is not an insult. I'm just having fun wit you. You need to stop taking things so seriously.

Angels 10-5
Tigers 10-5
Rangers 9-7
Red Sox 8-7
Rays 7-9
Yankees 6-10
White Sox 5-12

Not to sound like a intense Red Sox fan, but so happy Ortiz had a great comeback. 4RBIs yesterday, 31st homerun, and looks like he'll hit 100 RBI again. Shame on so many media people thinking he was done.

Gun, Think all are from the past month...and they have all come from memory.

Also to me, there is no difference between a comment or a prediction. Especially since if it came to be true, you would have taken credit for it.

Like The White Sox would take the WC from the Yankees. You made this prediction when the Yankees were playing like garbage and the White Sox were playing better than the Red Sox. And the White Sox just got Manny. So everything was there for you to picj the White Sox.

Just like when you commented if Beckett comes back from injury and wins 8 in a row. And I answered right away. Beckett has hardly ever won 8 in a row so that is a stupid point.

PS> Don't think Texas is playing that much better and Hamilton is still hurt.

Nice, two milestones in one day in the same stadium.

Ichiro ties Pete Rose with 10 consecutive 200 hit seasons. Also, Jose Bautisa becomes the 26th person to hit 50 homeruns in a season. Nice memory for the few people at the Roger Centre.

Beckett has never come back from Injury, he's still hurt, meaning my hopeful comment is mute. I don't take credit for those kinds of statements, never had. I'd say that I said it was possible, nothing more nothing less.

And please, you also took the time to stalk me throughout the entire forum and checked each time I was on????

Bautisa is so bizarre. The most homeruns he ever hit was 16 4 years ago, can we have a real discussion for a change? Why the sudden increase?

I love how Gun judges teams on how they play the Yankees.

Baltimore was great when they beat the Yankees and they were lousy when they lost to the Yankees.

Texas beats the Yankees 2 times by 1 run each. And they are playing great.

Tampa loses to the Yankees at Yankee Stadium. And Tampa is now playing badly.

LOL.

Can't wait to hear how he explains the next 6 Yankee Red Sox games.

Especially since the Red Sox can decide where the Yankees go in the playoff.

Gun. Red Sox Yankees. R U Excited.
And on Beckett, how many times in his whole career has he won 8 times in a row. Cause mainly he has been an average pitcher for most of his career.

Ha, with his last year with the Marlins to the present, not counting this year he has been 80-42, 2 World Series All Stars 2 years, World Series MVP and American League MVP. And he's one of the few players to win their first 7 starts in a season in 2007. Not many pitchers win 8 in a row, I just hoped Beckett would be dominant again, which he hasn't because he's still hurt.

But oh well, he's spanking tyou tonight. Pettitte pitched like shit. And Mike Lowell is without a doubt the toughest man in baseball. Cancer survivor, bad hip, playing with a broken rib and even a ball to the eye socket won't take him down long. Truly a great player leaving while a legend.

Gun. Piling it on kind of deep there.
First that is a lot of info to ignore the question. So Beckett I guess has never won 8 games.

And on Petiette. 2nd warm up games back from DL. Think he still gets 2 more starts.

And a horrible ump call leads to 7 runs. LOL. Ump calls a ball fair that goes to ball boy. TV even showed the reply 10 times. And then a double play would have followed to get the Yankees out of the inning.

So score should be 5-3 Yankees right now.

And Granderson hits homer and ball with so much top spin, the ball clocks Lowell in the head.

PS. Nice that TF let's him stay in with a probable concussion.

And then besides Granderson, big homers by Tex and Arod and Swisher to get ready for the playoffs.

Anyway unless Boston wins all 6 games to make up for those 6 horrible losses in August, it is all moot.

Plus this game might not be over yet with the Red Sox bullpen.

Wow, seriously the first angle they showed that ball was fair, if anything the ball boy saved an extra run instead of just 2. Kay kept showing the worst replay from an angle that you could never tell from. It's Lowell's last 10 games, they let him finish the inning, give him a break. Nothing is mute if the Yankees continue to play bad, who are now the 4th best team in baseball. Kay is such a bad announcer. I've met him in person and actually worked Centerstage, he is a great reporter, but his announcing is awful. Thank God the next two games are not on YES.

On a side note, Phillies 11 game winning streak. F-ing unreal

Haha Gun, your hilarious.

Red Sox Offense aided by ump bad call. I didn't see any angle that showed it going over the bag.

And then again, Petiette second warm-up start. Didn't you state when Clay came back it takes pitchers time to get there touch back.

But again you show yourself being pro Red Sox and anti NY Yankees.

And Yankees hit 6 homers. LOL. Remember I stated that the Yankees power would be a big plus in the playoffs. (4 homers off Beckett and 1 off Paps. Also, they showed stat that Paps leads league with 7 blown saves. That and the ERA are numbers you keep on ignoring. Like Paps needs a 3 run lead in the 9th to be safe.)

Also, it is too bad that home plate umpire sucked so much. Wonder if he just didn't want game to go to extra innings. As both sides were questioning calls every inning.

And then that was crazy how he screwed Cano in the 9th, when he was the tying run. With 2 out, it is a joke that you give pitches off the plate to a wild relief pitcher. And that one that made it 1-2 was 6 inches outside.

But again, until the Red Sox win like the next 6 in a row. It is all moot with the magic # holding at 3.

Ugh, this is getting tiring.

Can we talk about the Phillies? We've got the best record in baseball, and the pitching rotation set up to use Halladay-Hamels-Oswalt for 17 out of 19 possible playoff games. And of the three Halladay is pitching the 'worst' right now. Hopefully we clinch today so that he and our infield can get a few extra days off.

We can only talk about teams if people come in and post.

And last nights game was very exciting.

Just like todays. Can Lester come in and prove he is a true #1.

And on tghe Phillies. As the WC is open, do any one the other teams scare you that you could play in the 1st round. Cincy, Frisco or San Diego?

As soon as they clinch their division, then we can talk about them. At least they have the best mascot ever.

Phillies will win the WS. They could potentially use their Top 3 pitchers pretty much the ENTIRE playoffs. That's HUGE.

Cincinnati. They can actually score runs, and Phillies offense has been less than stellar lal year. Even during our 11 game winning streak, we won very few of the games in dominating fashion; most of the games have been won by pitching. So we match up well with San Francisco (who I believe will win the West), but not with the Reds.

That said, I'm not too worried about anyone in the NL.

Tigers 11-5
Angels 10-6
Rangers 10-7
Red Sox 9-7
Rays 9-9
White Sox 6-12
Yankees 6-12

well Yankees still not playing well enough but at least they are still covered to get to the playoffs after being the best team in baseball through 150 games.

Looks like Magic Number is still 3 to get to the playoffs. Then we will see who re-sets for the playoffs.

Anyway, glad to see Lester pitch a good game.

and bone head award to 3rd base coach. With Tex and Arod coming up, bases loaded and 1 out isn't good enough. So stupid getting runner thrown out at the plate.

PS. Nice to see Granderson still has it as he bitch slapped Bard for a homer.

I think you should be concerned about the Yankees. Their pitching looks awful right now. The Rays are the better team and will beat them in a 7 game series. Still, the Yankees need to be concerned about Minnesota if they have to play them as the WC.

PS, I love that the announcers today used my chart today. Must have mentioned the last 19 games 4 or 5 times. Congrats to Rangers. Yanks lost their last 4 games at home in a season. Not sure the last time that happened.

With a week to go. All the top teams - Tampa, Minn, and Phils lose 2 in a row to Mets - lose with a chance to get best record in MLB. Which allows choice for playoff series set up.

Yanks still up tonight vs Boston. Which is good as I will get 2 games as the Jets are on tonight.
