Late to get/pick-up dinner as I didn't want it to get cold.

Yes, I was at a pizza place watching the game. It was well worth it as we pounded you Spankees. So we are guarenteed another winning or tying record against them this year.

That was a bad decision to bring Park to pitch to Matsui. Why didn't they bring a lefty?

I never said half speed, I said doing the best they can without 5 top of the league players in their respective categories. Fillins are not starters Grill, and while Ortiz has not hit too many homeruns (First HR Derby win though)he's still gotten RBIs and his average hasn't changed. Ellisbury and Pedroia are probably both within the top 30 players in the entire league and Martinez catching and hitting is very missed as well. Wakefield's pitching is on par with every other season, they've made him an anchor that last couple of weeks which is not good at all. I would go as far to say as that there have never been more detrimental injuries for a team like the Red Sox this year in at least a decade. We Lost two League leading Pitchers, 2 great catchers/ hitters. An awesome DH, and Pedroia and Ellisbury who are two of the best well rounded players in baseball right now, and there are still 4 more on the Injury list.

Yankees are playing good now, but I mean they still have had very weak scheduling so far. I mean Oakland, Seattle, Toronto, KC and Cleveland for the month of July and are at full strength right now, they should be winning. August will be a tough month for them. Lot of Rival series and teams with good records.

More later when I get on a computer. But turned out to be a bad day for lots of teams. Yanks had a bad game. But Tampa and Boston blew games.

And Gun. More later. But here is what I was talking about the RS had a regular starting pitcher and 6 of 9 starters. And the 3 fill ins got a bunch of hits. But again the Red Sox starters again failed to produce after getting a 4-0 lead. That is unacceptable when trying to make up games.

And 8 strike outs by the big Red Sox hitters - Ortiz, Youk, Betre and Drew.

Yeah, yesterday sucked, though Wakefield is known for his blowup innings, but I don't understand why they didn't put paplebon in, I haven't even heard of the pitcher they used, maybe because the pitching coach was thrown out of the game, but I mean they just missed the 3rd out to save the inning by about a foot, it was a good game overall.

so Yanks and Tampa win today and Boston is playing with Clay Buck..... on the mound...not looking great as he gets a lucky double play in the 1st inning to get out of a bases loaded situation....

so any feelings from my Red Sox friends after 2 pretty bad losses....and as I said before, just because players are coming back, they have to do well on the field...and Wake and Clay Buck were two big parts of the last 2 Red Sox losses....

and next we have Beckett coming back...

Pitchers normally don't perform well in their first start after being on the DL for three weeks. If it's a continuing trend, then it's something to be concerned about.

I wouldn't call them bad losses, They were decent games with weaknesses on both teams parts. Clay did ok, nothing special, I think he'll be fine, What is really important is Beckett. He had a weak beginning, but if is able to pull in like 8 or so wins after the long injury it'll be good.

Don't worry it won't be his last.

And Texas is safe as I don't see an Angel comeback without Vlad or the guy who broke his leg.

And the Yanks continue to roll.

Funny how Grill doesn't know players names from other teams, yet the rest of us have knowledge of names from his teams.

Anyway, about the Calaspo trade, I think it helps our infield, and we needed a third baseman to get rid of Wood. We had to give up Sully and Will Smith (who both had terrible stats in AAA, but Sully got a win against the Yanks on Tuesday, maybe because they haven't faced him before and didn't know what he had). I am eager on how he helps us offensively.

Hey scottie. Why the attitude. Is it because I said I didn't think the angels would make the playoffs.

Well right now, do you think they will beat out the yanks, tampa and texas for a spot.

And I am typing on a cell phone as I walk so I am trying to talk quickly.
Morales. Broken leg.

I didn't have an attitude, I notice this pattern of not giving names. Now that you explained that you do it quickly over a cell phone, it is understandable. Anyway, it is a long shot for us to get a spot. At least we have a bright future with Callaspo at third.

Wonder if this would be considered a bad game?

Wow what a Red Sox game. Going from a perfect game to a loss. Can forgive the first 2 runs but not the last 3 runs.

And only 1 measly run by Ortiz first homer since the All Star break.

Watching the Yanks win. Such a great team. And there is talk that the Yanks might pick up Haren.

At least, he would be a good #5 on the Yanks. And it would be nice that he got off a shitty team and onto a great winning team.

Dan Haren was traded to the Angels in exchange for pitcher Joe Saunders and Rafael Rodriguez, minor league pitcher Patrick Corbin, and a player to be named.

kewl. Just heard about this. Saunders was inconsistant at best. That's one down. Now all we have to do is get rid of Kazmir.

So the angels get haren. Interesting if they can make up any ground this year but haren will be useful for the next couple of years he is signed.

And guess the yanks might just want to stand pat this year and go for Cliff Lee big after their upcoming WS win without having to give up any prospects.

boy Boston's regulars are really sucking it up - pitchers that are blowing leads and hitters that aren't hitting at all.

Scottie, so you feel better with Haran on the team? Think the Angels can make up the 6 games with about 60 to play?

Actually, we are thinking about the future seasons since our farm talent has been thin. Getting reliable people and getting rid of the underachieving farm and major league talent is a way to start looking into the future (same goes for the Callaspo trade).
