Oh and BTW I was just quoting Macy's http://wfmz.com/view/?id=1292313&title= ... d%20SeriesOK, just wondering...and on the Giants I have been busy and caught up in baseball & other things. I am not even sure of all the changes you talk about on defense. On Offense, I guess the 2 big changes have been Burgess and Ward leaving - which seems to have made a big difference. As Smith is now the #1 instead of #3 WR and Ward doesn't rest the other RBs.

Re: 2009 Major League Baseball Discussion
Thinking about it...Yankees really lucky they won Game 4 with CC...cause if they had to go 3 times with pitchers going on short rest, they could easily have not won again.
Hoping the Yankees win tonight but this would be very exciting if it has to go back to NY - Does anyone know who is sch for Game 6/7 for Philly.

Probably Martinez and Lee, not unless they want Hamels on three days rest for Game 6.

They need their best out there, and Lee is their best even on short rest. But this is why Hamels and Martinez should've switched places and why Lee should've gone last night instead of tonight. That way they wouldn't have to (possibly...gotta win tonight) worry about Lee. And so far so good.

Holy Shit. Yanks have tying run at plate with no one out in the 9th, who would have thought that!

Re: 2009 Major League Baseball Discussion
Yanks manager doesn't pinch hit for very slow Matsui in 9th, as even the announcers questioned. A faster runner could have broken up Jeter's Double Play. Bummer.

Re: 2009 Major League Baseball Discussion
well Yanks didn't deserve win. Not really sure if phils did. Early runs were off a pitcher who shouldn't have pitched. Manuel was smart holding Lee for the extra day as Burnett needed. An dthe Yankees manager leaves lots of questions. Including using Swisher as CF was hurt.
But the Phillies did hit 2 late clutch homers!!! So they deserved it more.

Re: 2009 Major League Baseball Discussion
One big question on umps again. Calling balls & strikes.
Tex up as tying run in 9th. 1st pitch 6 inches outside off the plate, Ump calls it a strike. Now, instead of 1-0, it's 0-1 and Tex swings at a borderline pitch that he probably takes at 1-0 for 2-0 but instead it is 0-2. Big Difference.
Sorry to all the other replay calls but balls & strikes are still the biggest problem with umps. As with that 15 inch plate and the catcher blocking them plus the catcher's glove plus they usually work one side of the plate and guessing on the other side. Balls & Strikes calls are just f'ed up.

I knew this Short Rest would come back to haunt us. We were supposed to lose this Game Why not use it to repower the Starters? I absolutely hate the Rest of the matchup now.

Well, Pedro in Game 6 isn't as guaranteed as Lee in Game 6. and what is wrong with CC in Game 7 against anyone? Lee on 3 days rest plus any others. >>> and with no confidence in CC and with the way the Yanks came back, gotta ask again, are you really a Yankees fan? PS. That being said, I am hating the moves of this Yankee manager as much as I hated Torre's do-nothing moves with teh Dodgers.

Re: 2009 Major League Baseball Discussion
I doubt Lee could pitch in game 7. Wouldn't he be on two days rest? What I absolutely hate is that if Pettitte can't perform on three days rest the bullpen will be absolutely overworked in an eventual game 7. Quote: >>> and with no confidence in CC and with the way the Yanks came back, gotta ask again, are you really a Yankees fan?
Because I doubt the manager's decision to use his ace twice in a row on 3 days rest I am not a Yankee fan? You are just dumb, Goldie

Re: 2009 Major League Baseball Discussion
Lee wouldn't start game 7 - it'd be two days rest. If the Phils manage to win game 6, then for Challie the choice is start Happ or Hamels, with Lee potentially coming in to pitch an inning or two.

Re: 2009 Major League Baseball Discussion
well didn't expect Yanks to beat Lee in Game 5. Now at least, lets see who deserves the win as both teams have a chance with 2 games left.
