Are you laughing at the Red Sox who lost to Tampa in 2008 or got their ass kicked by the Angels this year?

And I was showing the depth of the pitching staff which also extends into the bullpen. They have the deepest pitching staff in baseball (Rays come close but the bullpen is too disorganized). The only question mark on the staff is Penny. He's not as big a question mark as Burnett is, but still is because he's coming off of surgery. He looked sharp in his last couple of starts in the spring though. Hey I can find plenty to laugh at. Remember this, I ripped apart this crap that you posted before the season started...now that is funny!

Today, same situation, but A-Rod hits it just slightly better and it goes a few feet over the fence and it's 5-0.
I said yesterday that the game and series would have been over if A-Rod hit that HR, and I still stand by that. Today he hits the HR and I think this game (and series) is over. Think it is over because of AROD & CC. Glad for both of them as Arod finally gets the help that pushes the team over the top. Baseball is a team sport so 1 guy really can't carry you. and on CC. For all the people that bitched about his mistakes in 2007 & 2008. In both years, he was overpitched leading the league in innings, complete games, 4 day starts, etc... and this year, CC has been great - both for the season & in the playoffs.

Re: 2009 Major League Baseball Discussion
Right here I would start watching CC. Personally I might have taken him out after 6 innings and 80 pitches. Anyway, this has been a great game by CC. Hope he gets through the 7th as it looks like they are keeping him in. 7 innings, 100 pitches? on 3 days rest. Pitchers rarely do that anymoer on 4 days rest or only the top pitchers.

so both series are at 3-1! Think Dodger series can go longer if they just take it 1 game at a time.

I like how some people on the forums are saying: "1-3 is a good place to be, remember all the teams that blew 3-1 deficits in the past" Wishful thinking, but Scoiscia has to change his approach if he wants that to happen.

Sorry but I think this is the Yankees year in the AL as they have been playing great baseball from the 2 months after the team jelled and some players got back from the disabled list. Anyway, I hope there isn't a Game 7 cause I want CC available for Game 1 againts the Phillies - and then CC can pitch 3 games if needed against the Phillies and there big left hand hitters.

Do the Angels show close ump calls on the field screen as most stadiums don't? Heard a roar on tv yesterday and the announcer said, the fans just saw the reply...
Most stadiums don't show those plays or only get to show 1 before the umpire tells them no to anymore.

Hope you can give them a series!Still a shame that the Dodgers blew it as there were 2/3 games that could have been different. Torre blew Game 1 by leaving Kersahw in to give up 5 runs when he had nothing left. Game Brox lost. Just needed 1 to get game back to LA for 6/7. And even today, chance to tie game with 2 runners on but Ethier swings at first pitch and then Manny pops up. Game Over after that point. Anyway, glad the Dodgers lost as the Dodgers would get swept 4-0 to the Yankees. Wouldn't even have been close.

No, they only show Howard's replays on great plays, like homerun, basehits, great defense, but not on Umpire calls. Tim McClelan was on the news and he even apologized for that bad call. Did you know that Tim was also the umpire involved in the Pine Tar incident for the Kansas City/Yankees game of 1985. Tim always gets the most controversy.

Yup, HE made 2 bad calls in an inning and the umps made 3 bad calls in 2 innings. Also this 3rd base ump was the crew chief so he should have talked about all the bad calls!!!!! and then on the strike zone...see below as this deserves a separate post.

Re: 2009 Major League Baseball Discussion
They have to go to an electronic strike zone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As BAD ball and strike calls are as much game changing as anything else.
I have been pissed of for years - since 2006 I rememeber when the Mets were 1 run behind the Cards and the first 2 pitches were out of the K zone but were called strikes....
When the first gets a bad first called strike, they changes the at bat. When it goes 0-2, on a batter that puts the batter in a horrible spot and when a batter makes out that really kills a good % of scoring.
Anyone on the Dodgers game yesterday, while the game was still close, the ump suked....
In the first inning, the Dodger pitcher was throwing pitches in the K zone, which the ump called balls. Then the pitcher is throwing at different spots trying to find the strike zone - result, 2 walks and then a homer
On Mannys at bat, bases loaded Dodgers down by 3 in the 5th > First pitch OUTSIDE & UMP CALLS IS A STRIKE. Now second pitch is inside but Manny fouls if off. I tell my friend, if the first pitch is a ball, Manny talks that and now the count is 2-0!!! but at 0-2 Manny has to go swing at another close outside pitch...and pops up....
Also Kershaw went 3-2 on a Phillie hitter, me and my friend were dying as the K Zone wa sshowing it at 1 ball and 4 strikes - then he actually strike out - swinging - and the K zone showed 1 ball and 5 strikes.
Lastly their was a pitch to Howard on a 3-2 count that was right in front of the ump and right on the plate - K Zone said strike - Ump Said ball - Ump suks - Baseball loses with this bad calls.
PS. On the 3rd base call against the Yanks - that was a game changing play, talking the run off the board to make it 3-0. Anything could happen at that point. In the old days, umps would have more meetings....but now a days umps are so arrogant, they refuse to ask for help....but those 2 plays at 3rd should have been corrected by another umpire...so F'ed up.....
