When you post something on a public forum, you better expect it to be used in a negative manner eventually. It becomes fair game and complaining over it isn't going to do anything. Many have had it happen here, Korrgan, Box, and even Joe are just a few examples of posters who have posted personal info that others have used to taunt, tease, attack, whatever. They can be real dicks about it and it's usually wrong, but you still have to know what to expect when you post about personal information.

Some things are not surprising but nonetheless remain unacceptable.

I agree with Jiffy that it was unacceptable, but it's very difficult to deal with cases like this. One side posted personal information, not expecting it would be used in a negative manner I guess, while the other used it because it had become public information. And with no clear rules on that here, it just makes it more difficult.

It should be seen as a lesson to though. Don't post personal information on the public forum. It will be used negatively eventually. And if you are okay with that, be prepared for it, don't complain about it when it happens. It's also a very smart idea to report posts that involve one or two individuals rather than bringing them up open to the public board. Especially here since it's a very clique dominated site. Doing things in private would really solve so many avoidable problems.

Joe though shouldn't be banned for mentioning what was already public information though Perhaps warned because it was inappropriate, but a ban? Nah.

Joe, we recognize you're depressed, but no one here is going to fly to Minnesota to hug you and nurse you to mental health. I'm not sure what you expect. If you need help, you need to see a counselor/therapist. Believe me, you're not the first person in the world to be depressed and/or feel alone, but your way of coping--becoming a total nuisance, embracing offensive school shooting iconography, directly and indirectly threatening other people--is not healthy or acceptable.
