Haren's numbers ARE great. He doesn't have run support, thus he is 2-2.

And Santana doesn't average a lot of innings per game

sorry but last year Santana had the best ERA of 2.50 and was 16-7, talk about not enough run support and a bad bullpen. And he averaged just under 7 innings per inning for the whole year.

and this year....

he has played one less game so he is 4-1 in 6 starts with 54 K in 40 innings and the league is batting 160 againist him.

Note this year Santana is average 6.5 innings per game > only cause the manager pulls him early... note Haren is only at 7

and Haren 6.54 average innings pitched last year or under Santana for the full year.

I was at the Red Sox and Angels game on Wednesday. It was a very different experience with 1/3 of the people there are Red Sox fans (most other opposing teams at Angels Stadium usually has around 10-20 of the opposing team fans). Guess they really do follow them everywhere. Is it because they can't get into Fenway? Anyway, these fans really try to compete with us in the cheer department, as when Jason Bay (who have always been a threat to Angel's pitchers) hit that homerun, their cheers outnumbered our boos. They are quite a lively bunch, as we get into alot of verbal wars with them. But them Napoli hit that homerun to take the lead, they really changed things around, as Angel fans were literally getting in the Sox fan's faces (chants include "Boston Red Sux!" or "Bostons Sucks c--k."). In fact, nearby me, one Sox fan got ejected from the Stadium by security (or reasons unknown). And near the end of the game, Sox fans still show faith in their team. And when Palmer got that complete game, even some Sox fans gave him a Standing Ovation. All in all, it was one of the best experiences I have ever been to at Angels Stadiums, with Boston fans being some of the most liveliest crowds ever. I even chatted with some of them before the game, and yes, like most Boston fans, they really do know their sh--about baseball. They are also pretty nice people, since they know we pound the Yankees most of the time. Makes me look forward to the Yankees game I am going to in July.

About today's game, wow, great suspense with 12 innings of ball (does this remind anyone of Game 3 of the ALDS), with once again, proved that the longer the game went, the bigger Advantage the Angels had with our depth in the bullpen. And another great gold glove catch by Hunter. And Santana, well, not bad for his first game after rehab. And Big Papi, wow, 0-7 today. I don't know what to say. Anyway, great series for the Angels, and it's a good thing we don't meet again till September.

Hey they're only 4.5 games back in the division. The same as the Yankees.

I know. That was on bizaare moment. The Rangers shut us out today. In fact, the Rangers have been pounding the AL West in general with their dangerous offense. Although their stumbling block is the AL Central, who have pounded the Rangers this year, which is who they have to face next. Even they make the playoffs, the Royals or Tigers will be in their way. Funny is that Texas has struggled against the AL central, but the Angels had no problem with them. Weird how our weaknesses can be so contrast.

I'm hoping for Toronto, Kansas City, Texas, and Tampa as the wildcard. That would be hilarious...ly awesome.

You thought this season couldn't get anymore bizaare, here is what happened yesterday.

"Sonnanstine was forced to hit third in the Rays' lineup against Cleveland after Maddon pencilled in both Evan Longoria(notes) and Ben Zobrist(notes) at third base for the game. Maddon actually meant to write 'DH' next to Longoria's name, but he couldn't go back and rectify the error. Under baseball's rules, the Rays lost the rights to their designated hitter and had to bat Sonnanstine in Longoria's usual third spot. It was the first time since 1968 that any pitcher in either league started in a batting position higher than seventh."

Later in the game, Kerry Wood from the Indians pitched behind B.J. Upton, then he followed by a pitch way inside that almost hit him. But the umpires did not toss Wood, nor did they give them a warning. This caused the benches to clear only because the umps didn't take care of the problem. I mean, Lackey got tossed after those two pitches, but Wood got away with it scot free. How imcompetent are these umpires?

At the Mets/Dodgers game, top of the 11th inning, with the score tied 2-2, Ramon Troncoso of the Mets hits a triple to score Ryan Church, and the Mets lead 3-2, but it was later appealed when Church did not tag 3rd base (remind anyone of a Marv Thorneberry moment). Then with the bases loaded on one out in the bottom of the 11th, Hudson hit the bal very weakly, but Reed (who could have an easy double play to get out of hit) overthrows the ball and it cost the Mets. The Mets comitted 5 errors in the game (remind anyone of the 1962 Mets). Marv Thorneberry legend lives on.

Does Toronto have to live with the NESN coverage or is it just everyone outside of Toronto because of hockey?

Not on TSN2? That's the audience the NESN announcers greeted at the beginning of the game which is what made me ask in the first place.

Oh yea it's probably on TSN2... which is in a dispute with Rogers so it doesn't come with the cable package. TSN2 has been a bitch all year for Raptors games too. I think they just settled things, but it'll still cost $60... which I'm not paying

And Penny looked solid tonight. That's the fourth quality start in a row for the Red Sox starters. The bullpen is already great as is (and with Bard's 99mph fastball it's even better) but if the starters can start to come around (Dice-K back on Friday) this team might start to roll.
