Post Re: NBA 2008-2009 season
If the Magic have any prayer of winning this game they're going to have to come out with the same effort they had in Game 3 because the Cavs are probably going to come out stronger and harder than in any game so far this postseason. It's usually not smart to change things up when you have a 3-1 lead entering a Game 5, but they need to get the ball inside with a little more frequency early on if they have any chance in this one. They can also set up the three point shot more effectively that way. They can't go down by 16 again on the road because the Cavs are awake now. If the Cavs get a whiff of a 16 point lead tonight this game will wind up being a blow out.

It can change quikly. We dominated the first quarter in the first two games.

Plus, we're shooting way way way above .500% right now. We can't count on those things to always go in. Though, I'm liking the way the defense looks. Howard is getting frustrated.

Magic - 9 of 17 at the line

Can't expect to hit all of them, but hit four or five more and it's that much closer.

Why are ESPN/TNT so obsessed with showing us celebrities at these games? With the exception of Jack and Andy Garcia, how many of them actually give a shit? Why should we?

Nah, CC isn't a has been (which I hate to admit) but yeah, interviewing him is a complete waste of time. And do Cleveland fans really want to hear from him ever again?

11 of 22 at the line now (not sure where TNT got 7 of 13 from) and they're only down by four. They're in great shape right now.

1st Quarter

Cavaliers - 35
Magic - 18

2nd Quarter

Magic - 37
Cavaliers - 21

I wonder if there's going to be any kind of balance in the third quarter.

Big win (obviously) for Cleveland. I think Orlando's got this in 6 though. Lebron just had to do way too much by himself towards the end of the game. They also can't afford to lose two guys again to foul trouble.

yeah, i'm not too disappointed with that loss. once again orlando comes from way behind and keeps it close the entire game (until they fall apart or Lebron takes over, depending on how you look at it). would have been nice to keep that 8 pt lead they got to until the end, but i'm pretty confident they'll be fine in game six.

Kyp, I'm so surprised to see you posting in this side of the forums...

LeBron, I love you.

Now, onto other things: although we lost two guys to foul trouble, it won't happen again. Plus, Cleveland seems to have learned how to provoke Howard into fouling (whereas, you know, Varejao and Z. aren't pestered so easily). Nice to see Booby get some threes, but we can't rely on that in Orlando. I only trust Booby when LeBron can attract the double-team and get him open, or when we're leading by like 20 :funny:.

So now Game 6 turns into a must-win for both teams. Cleveland of course has to keep their season alive, but Orlando really has to win. Even though they've already won in Cleveland, they want no part of a Game 7 there. Yes they beat the Celtics in Boston in Game 7, but the Celtics were exhausted and without Kevin Garnett. The Cavs have Lebron and as he's proven, he alone can win a game. In order for that to happen though he's gonna need some help in Game 6. They haven't helped yet so I'm not sure how that's going to change.

if lebron can get even close to that kind of help from his teammates in game 6 then the cavs have a shot. gonna be a one hell of a game.

really sad how the refs can't call a game correct...maybe they need 2 more refs....but tired of home team and star players getting all the benefits of ref calls.

For what it's worth, Orlando took more free-throws and got called for only two more personals.

Only thing they didn't do was call LeBron travelling late in the game, but that sort-of thing they won't call in Orlando anyway (you know, when he's being pressured by another guy at half-court or so, and dribbles for ten seconds, deciding what to do).

not really talking about a particular game, just in general. and are they that taken in by the crowds?

Especially guys going to the hoop and shooting the ball; sometimes touch fouls are called and other times, guys get hammered and no call.

Traveling near the hoop....now it seems they are letting 5 steps go...

Blocking & Charging..... think they just guess on the close plays

Touch Fouls 30 feet out when no one isn't shooting > then call a foul everytime someone touches the ball or don't call any!!!!

******

but here was a big one...watched at a bar so not sure what the said on tv....

Howard was backing in towards the hoop > he was pushing backwards with his free hand (why no foul?) then the other guy had position and Howard just kept backing into him (again why no foul?) then Howard goes up and maybe some contact with body (foul)
