Post Re: NBA 2008-2009 season
Denver's strategy to single cover Dirk and shut down the rest is working beautifully this series. The Nuggets... might be the best team in the West. They're literally stacked at PG, SG, SF, PFs and C... great mix of offense and d... great chemistry... go to guys. Opposed to the Lakers who have at least shown to be a bit soft under pressure

Post Re: NBA 2008-2009 season
Though I'm dead tired today, I did end up watching the Nuggets/Mavs game last night. We had spurts of playing well and playing good defense, and at other times we seemed to willing to launch a contested three (at one point I think we were 2-13) and get back late on defense. Though he didn't directly state it, the Mavs coach did say that the altitude was playing a factor in their 4th quarter struggles.

I love the Nuggets when they play team basketball and they are looking great, but I want to see how we react on the road against a team that won't give up on their coach (at least I think they won't).

Howard's shooting and Reddick's fouls completely KILLED the Magic tonight.

The only thing the Magic have to feel good about heading into Game 3 is that they're going home. That's it. They lost by 18 to a Celtics team that saw Pierce contribute a whopping 3 points during a hard fought 16 minutes. Finally the refs helped out the Celtics by resting him for Game 3. Thanks Bennett!

Pierce has been terrible this whole season, Rondo, Ray Ray, and Davis have been leading us. Perk played very well too.

Very nice comeback by the Rockets, even with Yao in foul trouble. I'm getting more impressed by the team each day. It could've easily been a blowout like the Celtics/Magic game.

This is starting to get absurd. Why is Crawford still a ref?

i was surprised Artest didn't start swinging when he ran at Kobe instead of just jawing at him.
the old Artest probably would have.

game 3 and 4 in Houston are going to be interesting. hopefully the Rockets win both. :D

Well, an intense game for sure. Shaping up to the best series of the second round.

they better suspend Fisher for game 3. :disgust: he could've seriously injured Scola with that cheap shot.

Heh, so Cleveland's point differential in its six playoff games, including the current one, is roughly 2x its point differential for the regular season (19 v. 9.something)

But I mean, this is sort-of humiliating for Atlanta.

Cleveland starters aren't even playing anymore.

LeBron is officially no longer human; he reminds of Mike Tyson before his fights in his heyday when he just KNEW he was going to kill everybody. LeBron is just godlike....Jordans days as the greatest ever are numbered; that much is obvious. LBJs all around game is the best we've since MJ and hes what, 24?

Um, clearly Magnus never watched the 2007 playoffs, when Game 5 v. Detroit was a 5 on 1 game.

And its not like that was the only time LeBron was clutch...

Game 7 vs. c's last year comes to mind; even if they lost.

Post Re: NBA 2008-2009 season
Look, I don't think he's MJ, they've got different styles. That said (and I know this sounds super cheesy)...I think people "feel" LeBron in ways they haven't since MJ.

Example: I love LeBron James. He's hardly older than I am, yet he's totally an idol. I dress like a prep, but I love my "Witness" T-shirt. I get jittery during games, thinking about what he's done for the city, how he somehow transcends my grandparents' slight racism (fyi, it took my grandparents years to get on the Tiger Woods train). It's a vibe. You can't prove it with stats...or moments...or anything, really.

I think MJ comparisons will start being made if Cleveland wins the championship, he signs his extension, and his documentary with LionsGate is well-received/popular. Until then, let's just STFU and watch the chosen one while he's still "under the radar." :funny:

Magnus Jordan did not do shit until he had help, you should know that. LeBrons has had more success in terms of wins in first few seasons than MJ did.

As far as "feeling" LeBron; yup, the nation has LeBron fever indeed; it wont peak until he runs for politics in his late 30s and wins.

Yeah, I wouldn't argue that yet. Let's win two championships and outfit all of Dubai with Cleveland Cavaliers/LBJ gear, then we'll talk Jordan v. LBJ

I do like how the LBJ debate has switched back to LeBron vs MJ, rather than LeBron vs Kobe, which isn't even a contest imo.
