Not sure why nobody is talking about this big thing here

I thought it was a dramatic episode and was glad the way it worked out. Those pirates can say they will try for revenge all they want. I like how Obama handled himself in that situation and talking tough to the pirates after the fact.

It did seem like something you see in a movie or an episode of 24.

3 Navy Seal Snipers taking out three armed pirates at the exact same time from the back of a moving warship. That's pretty bad ass in a Doctor Fumbles sort of way.

On Fox News for the past week or so, Republicans were calling him "President Pantywaist", banking on the idea that he wouldn't do anything forceful, or if he did, it would end in failure.

Obama's role in this (he gave the order, but the Navy of course were the real heroes) wouldn't even be a big deal if they hadn't been trying to make it one.

I'm certainly glad it ended well and that they were able to rescue this captain, who by all accounts sacrificed himself to save his crew.

Sniper shots at sea on a moving boat aimed at another moving boat have got to be the badassest thing ever.

obama helped save the captain? i mean really? He did the right thing, he didn't do anything he shouldn't have done. The title of this thread is ridiculous.

3 ships over 36 hours with 50 hostages. But they're not American ships (Greek and Egyptian) so don't expect to hear much about them.

Stop quoting yourself. Also, the *********** is from the old Goldie. This aspect seems to creep more and more into your current posting alias.

the only way to stop these pirates is to continue to board these ships and shot everyone of them.

Everyone get your GOP talking points straight already.

When Bush was President it was this:

Anything that went well was due to the President's leadership. Anything that went bad was someone else's fault.

Now that Obama is President it's this:

Anything that goes well is due to someone else. Anything that goes bad is due to the President's leadership.

if bush did the same thing he shouldn't get anymore credit than what obama should get. they did their job. And I dont remember exactly being the biggest fan of bush during his tenure as president either.

Conservative commentor Bernard Goldberg, chastising Sean Hannity for being petty, shrill, and stupid, ie being Sean Hannity:

"I don't want to put Barack Obama on Mount Rushmore for simply being the commander-in-chief, but we have to stop going out of our way to find fault with every single thing he does.

If something bad happened here, and thank God it didn't, but if something bad happened here, I'll guarantee you, I'll tell you who would be leading the crusade against him: You. And you may have been right, if something bad happened, you may have said this is because he's seen as soft and they took advantage of him. You might have been right. But it didn't. Look, Sean, the good guy is alive and well. The bad guys are dead. That's all good. It happened on Barack Obama's watch. He gets the credit."

Quote:
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Liberty Sun, a U.S.-flagged cargo ship bound for Mombasa, Kenya, was attacked Tuesday by Somali pirates, according to a NATO source with direct knowledge of the matter.

The pirates never made it onto the ship. The vessel is now being escorted by a coalition ship, still bound for Mombasa.

The source could provide no details on where the vessel was attacked but said it is suspected the pirates were based on a mother ship somewhere in the area

What is this, ID4?

Any Hollywood executive not willing to exploit this for a movie is an idiot.
