Beckett looked great today, that is a good sign for the Sox.

yup, so how do you expect the rest of the staff to hold up.

Also, like how most of the team had 1 RBI and 1 hit each except for Youk.

The offense was fine, you try hitting in 30 degree weather. I am not worried about the rest of the staff except Penny. Lester will be great and Dice-K will be what he has been the last two years.

Beckett
Lester
Matsuzaka
Penny
Wakefield
Buchholz
Masterson
Smoltz

I'll take that.

I'll also take a lineup where most of the team drives in a run a game. Then again, that's just me.

I saw Mat pitch in the WBC, the guy just gets people out but he is stuck on that 15 pitches per inning.

And I was showing the depth of the pitching staff which also extends into the bullpen. They have the deepest pitching staff in baseball (Rays come close but the bullpen is too disorganized). The only question mark on the staff is Penny. He's not as big a question mark as Burnett is, but still is because he's coming off of surgery. He looked sharp in his last couple of starts in the spring though.

As for Matsuzaka that works out to 105 pitches over 7 innings. Nothing wrong with that.

think overall D Mat is a 6ish inning pitcher, I would be very happy if he made 7 most games.

I think most teams would be happy if their number three pitcher would make 7 innings in most games.

Well, Angels lost today, but we did get plenty of hits (8 to be exact), but the A's bullpen got us today.

??? do you mean, the A's got to your bullpen as you guys gave up 3 runs in 2 innings to lose the game. Or to take away your chance to win a 3-3 game.

The Mets might have a 3/4 to do that. Perez and Maine. Those 2 will tell how the Mets will do this year.

so you don't have a problem with your relievers giving up 3 runs in 2 innings of a 3-3 game. Sorry but that would piss me off.

and Vlade not coming through being the tying run in the 9th.

Well I guess I read that statement as an accusation, you being a Yankee fan I expected it plus I was tired at the time. So sorry about that.

Okay, so maybe I phrase it wrong. I don't have much of a problem getting beatin by the A's actually. I may be an Angels fans, but I like the A's, Dodgers, and Tampa too.

Besides, being a Christian, I don't show too much agression when my team loses, just the "there's always tomorrow" attitude. I tend to be more conservative, in fact, most people from Anaheim are conservative, which is why the crime rate is extremely low here. Alot of Angels fans I know (including my pastor) are like that as well. "We lose, oh well, maybe next time" is how we are here.

well I never thought Lester YET was deserving of a #2 after his first full year last year at 16-6.

Time will tell.

Tonights game was one of the most fusturating games I have ever attended (yes, I was there, since I have a 13-game mini plan). He had a 4-0 lead in the top of the eighth, but Shields gave up 3 in the runs, so the Angels had only a 4-3 lead. And twice, Fuentes was one strike away from the winning the game, but he blew it and we ended up losing 6-4 to Oakland. The fans around me ground we Fuentes blew it. Oh well, at least I got together with a female Oakland fan, and we talked and I congratulated them, and I said that I admire them and I'd still root for them if they made the post season (since they are a California team), and I took a picture of us shaking hands and singing "Why can't we be friends" (this shows how good sports we can be). At least I left smiling (btw, she was cute), and I got my Wall Calendar (since that was the promotion). Hopefully Weaver can split the series for us.

You thought that I heartbreaking, I feel even more sorry for Atlanta fans, who blew an 10-3 lead with the Phillies in the bottom of the 7th. Wow, talk about even more heartbreaking. At least the Yankees lost, that made us happy.

I just heard about that. It happen in Fullerton on Orangethorpe Ave. My uncle was not far where it happened, and yes, it was indeed a stupid drunk driver that killed him. Yes, this is sad, he is only 22 years old. A shame, he pitched six great innings last night too.

Yes a real shame/horrible story!!!!

Just wondering....

Were you at the game he pitched? Was it the only major league game he ever pitched in? Was he expected to be a good or great pitcher?.

Yes, I was there last night. He pitched six shutout innings last night, but it was Shields and Fuentes that blew it.

To answer your second question: He was a 14th-round Draft choice in 2004, Adenhart made his Major League debut on May 1 last season and made three starts, winning one of them. He made a good impression last night, although I am not sure if he would last through the season, hence his high ERA. Although after last night, he looked to be a promising start. This is a real horrible shame/tragedy.

Go to this page http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7929 and you see his stats.

And to add on to the crash, there were four other people in the car with Nick. They were rushed to UCI Medical Center, and all died. The guy who crashed ran away from the scene by foot, he was later taken into custody.
