Post Re: 2007 NFL Discussion
it's a beautiful morning and i'm still high off last night. :D

Manning driving his team for a last minute winning score was almost like Montana driving the Niners 90+ yards for the winning td in SB 23.

That's why the Pats are disliked as well. The whole "we can only beat ourselves"-attitude. The Giants won it, it wasn't handed to them. You could make the same argument for Antonio Pierce being the MVP because of the Interference call if the Pats won.
The Giants DL dominated because they are fantastic. Giants should give Steve Spagnuolo a lifetime contract and make him the highest paid assistant coach. He's the single most reason the Giants came so far.

Because its true and everybody knows it; we played our worst game of the season last night.

There are two possibilities for playing a bad game. Either you had a day off or maybe, just maybe, the opponent had the perfect game plan and executed it very good. The fact that you're not giving the Giants any credit for their performance bothers me.
The Pats were clearly the best team of the regular season, no doubt about that, but the last few weeks they were in decline. They had one great quarter against the Jags, struggled mightily against San Diego and now were outplayed in every aspect by the Giants.
The Giants have beaten four teams in the play-offs on the road that were a combined 54-13. I think you can make a fair point that the Giants came to play when it counted and were the best team of the playoffs.

what else can u expect from Pats fans, Levy. :disgust:

The Pats didn't deserve to win this game. They weren't very smart discounting the Giants and their defense or running game especially after they just beat the Cowboys and Packers. Even in the regular season, the Giants had almost half of the sacks during the year. So you really have to question the Pats coaching including some crazy calls during the game: why wasn't Walker and Faulk used more early to stop the rush, why go for a 4-13 instead of a 49 yard field goal when you had the lead.

NEW YORK -- Very preliminary findings from 49 of the nation's biggest markets showed that ratings for this year's Super Bowl, with the New York Giants' thrilling win over the New England Patriots, were up 6 percent over last year's big game, according to Nielsen Media Research on Monday.

Experts say those numbers indicate the game has a strong shot at being the most-watched Super Bowl of all time, and the second most-watched broadcast ever.

Let me explain my fanhood really quick.

I was born and raised in Arizona. Still live here.

My dad is from Michigan. So I grew up LOVING the Wings, Tigers, Lions, Pistons, Wolverines.

I hate most Az teams. The Suns are ok.

Tom Brady went to Michigan, and I followed his college career with a passion. He got drafted, got some starts and I started cheering for the team. I only started getting really into the NFL a few years ago, and I ONLY root for either the Patriots/Lions, or Michigan players.

The Red Sox are ok. And the Celtics are ok. The Bruins suck.

True that bro!

I'll be wearing my Welker jersey tomorrow (the real MVP) and stick it to the man!

Post Re: 2007 NFL Discussion
NEW YORK -- The New York Giants' thrilling victory over the New England Patriots was the most-watched Super Bowl ever, with 97.5 million viewers, Nielsen Media Research said Monday.

The game eclipsed the previous record of 94.08 million, set when Dallas faced Pittsburgh in 1996. More people watched Sunday's game than all but one American television broadcast ever, the "M*A*S*H" finale in 1983, which was seen by 106 million viewers.

The game had almost all the ingredients Fox could have hoped for: a tight contest with an exciting finish involving a team that tried and failed to make history as the NFL's first unbeaten team since 1972.

The Giants ended New England's bid for perfection 17-14 in a game where the teams were never separated by more than a touchdown.

Please stop using Excel to generalize were other people are concerned.

The Giants played the better game yesterday, as evidence by the win, just cause Excel is a douche, don't go assume everyone else who roots the Patriots agrees with him.

While everyone will talk about the Manning-Tyree connection there were two plays I immensely enjoyed which noone talks about.

1. The completion to Smith that set up the game winning TD. Don't know if anyone saw this, but the Giants ran a cross route from scrimmage which led to Toomer blocking his own man and Meriweather who was assigned to Smith. That's why Smith was wide open.

2. The final sack by rookie Jay Alford. He threw Brady three yards back. That mas a mighty hit as I've ever seen

A few more things about the game.

The "play", where Manning slips away, should've been blown dead. When a QB is wrapped up, they should be calling a sack.

Eli tossed it up. I give NO props to him on that pass. I give ALL props to Tyree. And I SHUN Rodney for not ripping that ball out.

Also. Asante and Rodney BOTH dropped GAME KILLING Int's. Asante just didn't get high enough, and Rodney just didn't get a grasp on his.

If the Patriots run ONE running play near the goal line, the Giants lose.

One final note. I hope everyone realizes just how far Brady threw his 2nd to last pass. He threw it from his 12. He threw it down to the Giants 15-ish. That's 70+ yards IN THE AIR. If he could've gotten 5 more yards on it... Randy scores.

Post Re: 2007 NFL Discussion
That shouldn't have been a sack. About 5 Pats players touched him and one grabbed his jersey for about a second. Not long enough.

The one other play that I enjoyed the most was the Giants first touchdown, they just ran a running play and on the next play, they ran a great play action for that quick touchdown over the middle.

On the about Pats fans, not giving the Giants enough credit, learn some football. That is why the Giants have beaten 3 teams the experts said they shouldn't beat. But I said before all of the games, if Manning isn't making mistakes and they can spread the ball around to 3 RB and 2 WR, they are dangerous to keep moving the ball. Just look at the great first 10 minute drive. Also, the Gaints had a league leading 53 sacks which is over 3 a game and they give up less than 100 yards running so now of these teams, the Cowboys, Packers, Patriots, deserved to win, if none of them were smart enough to realize the Giants best points.

On the Pats for example, they were stupid not to use Walker and Faulk more early which would have help Moss and the RB get open. Also the coach deserved to lose for going for a 4-13 instead of a makeable 49 yard field with a 4 point lead.

Congrats to the Giants and Good-Bye to the Arrogant Cheating Patriots. And Yes they were Arrogant and Cheaters based on their comments both on and off the field. They wanted to win and have a perfect season to give a finger to everyone and now they are the only ones who got it in the end.

Bradys done it all season; not adjusted to Mosss speed. He doesnt under throw 70 yard passes; he just throws em too late so randy has to either turn around or slow up.

With the Giants pass rush, Brady never had his usual time to time and him and Moss never had the time to get their play together.

Anyway, Moss hasn't seemed to have the same numbers in the last 25 % of the year. I am wondering if he got tired?

Sorry Levy. Some ass hat copyrighted "19-0 The Perfect Season" a few months back.

The Patriots tried to prevent it.

There is something that made me lose ALL respect for the Giants. They are STILL talking trash. Talking about how they ended a dynasty, and the Patriots are done, and they are about to become a new dynasty.

The Giants are not a team built to win 12+ games a year, and consistently compete.

after winning the super bowl you are allowed to talk all the trash you want. ;) no matter if it makes sense or not.

and after your team losses the big game you are allowed to bitch and whine at what the winning team is doing and saying.

its teh sports circle of life.
