Also, Ben Gordon might go to Russia. If I were the Bulls I'd rather have him walk then pay 12 mil a year to him (which is his demand). He's too short to start and defend SGs, it worked ok when Hinrich was there, as he's 6'3, but with Rose presumably being the future he'll be a full time bencher. Also, it might be better for the Bulls to suck more next year and get another high lottery pick.
Apparantley the Knicks dealing Zach Randolph for Darko Milicic and Marko Jaric from Memphis is pretty near being a done deal. ESPN reported the deal is there, usually when they do that it goes through (they only fail with unsubstaintiated rumors).
Would do it if I was the Knicks. Jaric's contract doesn't help you, but getting rid of Randolph is a huge plus just from a chemistry/turning the corner point, and Darko's still 22 and looked somewhat better last year. Memphis... whatever.

Everything that gets this out of Knicks is great...
Apparantley Monta Ellis' "ankle injury, out for 3 or 4 months" reported a while back was more like a "fell off motorcycle, his career is in danger". Riding a motorcycle is specifically prohibited in all NBA contracts, when you combine that with the lieing, his contract could be voided or terminated until they see if he can recover. Word that Ellis is like 5 mil in debt, so if that happens and he can't play anymore, his life is uber fucked. If he manages to get paid the 11 mil this year though even if he's career's damaged or done and then gets his contract terminated after, he might be able to put things together from there. But yeah, bad move, bad bad move. Feel bad for the guy.
Creepiest part is that his contract was 6 years 66 mil... 6/66.
shut the fuck up zwackerm, you're out of your fucking element

White Chocolate aka Jason Williams retired today... kind of odd because he just signed a new contract with the Clippers like last month, I didn't even know it was legal to retire after making a move like that before playing a game. Clippers have wonderful luck as usual
Ginobli's out till December too. Probably won't make as big of a difference as you'd think, the Spurs usually coast through the first half of the season anyways, and their biggest assets, their defense and general team play and smarts, will still be there and enough for them to stay afloat in the West by the time he gets back.
Preseason got underway on Sunday. Finally saw some highlights of the game of the Minnesota game. Kevin Love didn't look too bad. Either way, Minnesota is going to be horrible again. Not nearly as bad as last year, but not nearly good enough to contend for the playoffs either.

I don't get how like all the summer league games managed to have a stream up or in some cases be fully televised, but they can't get preseason games up? Was looking forward to seeing some of the rooks.

Yea me too, especially tonight! I definitely want to check out Greg Oden and see how he does. His opener for Portland is tonight. It's on Direct TV or something like that. O well, I'm sure I'll see highlights the next day on ESPN News.

Just preseason, but it's nice to see Bargnani grab 9 rebounds. Don't think he did that once last year. : ) Led the team in points too.
The Wizards franchise clearly killed a gypsie sometime in their past... Jamison's knee is injured (extent unknown), Haywood is potentially out 4 to 6 months. Losing Haywood in this case is probably as bad as losing one of their all-stars, he was the only one playing defense on that team.
Might be for the best though, the only way that team gets anywhere at this point is to pull a Heat this year and end up with a high pick. Otherwise it'll be 5 years of first round exits and picks in the teens.
I still can't believe all the $$ they gave to Agent Zero. They have a huge payroll and haven't had much to show for it.
Finally saw highlights of the Blazers. Oden looked good. He seems to be a bit slow and sluggish, but the extra weight he put on looks good on him. Blazers are looking to be pretty good if everyone stays healthy.

Re: NBA 2008-2009 season
Hey Nebs have you watched any of the Knicks games yet. It's hard to judge by preseason but from what I've seen from the game against us yesterday and a bit of the game today with Philly, they look much more... cohesive than the last couple years. Way more passing and movement than before and Lee has killed it. They have a pretty deep roster if they ever started putting things together. But then again things might go south when Curry comes back and D'Antoni starts pissing people off. I wouldn't be surprised if they do more decent than people expect this year though.
Ellis suspended 30 games. He wasn't going to play them in any case, so it's pretty much just a 4 mil fine... quite a price to pay for crashing your moped. Can still void the contract if he can't play anymore.
