It's a shame he did this in the same Olympics as Phelps, because he's performance is really one of the all-time great track performances in Olympic history and I don't feel Bolt is getting the attention he deserves. People seem to be talking more about his show-boating rather than his accomplishments. and rightfully so. Bolt is being obnoxious and very arrogant. That turns a lot of people off... You can be happy, but you don't have to be a show-off and come across as arrogant.

Re: Official Summer Olympics 2008 Thread
Honestly this whole doping/age thing is getting a bit annoying already. I mean I understand where the trouble lays, but I'm sure that a lot of people would have a better time watching if NBC showed more sports and matches rather than controversies. The IOC should work on a better system to test these athletics before the actual games and have everything ready and 100% checked.

Canada now has 17 medals total! This is just awesome stuff! If we go by total medals won for a standings chart, Canada is #13 I believe. For the summer Olympics, I am totally happy with that!
Peace, Mike

classless act by that british 4X400m relay runner. taunting the runners behind him on a semifinal heat. that's going to comeback and bite the british team in the final.

I suspect the USSR would not have allowed the Chinese to get even one gold in gymnastics

So we missed our chance at another gold. Kinda irritating, actually.

That's a heartbreaking silver for the final diving event, but congrats to Matthew. He still needed to earn over 105 points in his final dive and absolutely nailed it.
Look like the 50th gold has to come from boxing.

I'm not a TWK expert, but this is a point right? Honestly the sport confuses me, it's seems like a lot of hopping and yelling and kicking at the arms. Though I have heard that the judging in this competition is a little suspect.

Look like the 50th gold has to come from boxing. Yeah, it would have been pretty nice to see China get the 8th gold, but that dive was perfect.
