 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
Poulter misses his birdie on the 17 although he was in decent Eagle position. Meanwhile Padraig makes Birdie to move ahead

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
What an unbelievable shot by Harrington! And what a general final-round performance. Except for the few holes in the middle, he was money.

What a shot at 17! Not bad for someone who wasn't sure if he could play. Seems to be a new trend: If you wanna win a golf major, injure yourself ahead

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
Padraig just played great
I think he's the 2nd best golfer in the world now, though that's not as big an accomplishment as it was a couple years ago, I really can't give any credit to Mickelson and Els for screwing up every major (though in the latter's case, he actually played great except for that 45 on the back nine of day 1. Getting back to the top 8 after that was impressive). And I think Vijay is harder to find than the Saskwatch these days.

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
Yeah, back-to-back is impressive any way you cut it, especially the way he won this year (and the injury, whatever it might be) comparing to last year.
I'd add Anthony Kim to the conversation for the 2nd best though. This is the first time he plays a link course, and in such difficult condition, he was contending all the way through until the bogey-bogey-bogey finish; pretty good stuff, almost as impressive as the way he won his two tournament.

B2B wins is impressive, I agree. I was rooting for AK but he couldn't quite do it but his performance was still good.

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
That Bridgestone tournament was like a timewarp. Vijay, Mickelson, and Goosen all in the top 5 again. On a side note it's kind of sad that Singh will still be like 4th in the world after winning this, despite falling off the face of the earth for the last year and a half.

I didn't even realize the PGA Championship started today... it's a different event without Tiger

So um... anyone else here Though then again, the leaderboard right now is serious I sure hope Sunday doesn't come down to a battle of J.B. Holmes, Charlie Wi, and Jeev Milkha Singh. Where oh where would golf be without Tiger.

Villegas is having a real good day. The PGA would love him to win a major.

The PGA is boring when Tiger's not playing.

The PGA is generally the most boring of the majors. I find this year is no exception.

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
I haven't watched one lick of golf without Tiger woods playing. It just isn't the same if he isn't in the tourney competing. The greg norman thing was slightly interesting but even then I didn't care to watch and this PGA championship I'm not even interested in either.

Harrington is playing terribly, but still hanging around from up and down saves every hole... definitley in Garcia's hands now, just has to stay steady

Sergio is playing one of the best final rounds in majors I've seen; hope he pulls it off.
