If the mods want to be taken seriously and the rules be taken seriously then they should not make a joke that you'll be sent on "vacation" for breaking the rules. Who wouldn't love a vacation! Send me on vacation!

The idea is ridiculous. Obviously some more popular members would get away with a lot more than ones that are less prominent. It would be completely unfair that to those "smaller" posters to leave it to a poll or something like it. I think the system works fine as it is.

The intention of the post was very clear, I think. I doubt any one reading it would not know what is meant by "vacation" unless they are extremely dense.

When someone is deliberately an ass to someone on a constant basis, it's not "running to the teacher". It's part of Roids job to control the forum and how it's perceived.

I think we can all agree that this is a community of like-minded people. Don't make me out to be insulting anyone here. I am not. It has nothing to do with what i think of people here. But it IS absolutely ridiculous to think that people would ever vote to ban someone like dolcevita or Dr. Lecter (and I am not suggesting they would do anything to deserve a banning, just picking two random people among what i consider to be the most pouplar posters).

I don't think it's out of the question at all. I definitely think that if they were honestly harming the boards then people would vote for some reprimand to happen.

It wouldn't be an administrative nightmare, either. These things barely come up. It would only help to build the community environment.

You would get a warning and the new person would probably be banned. You've built up a reputation with pretty much everyone here. To say that you're always abusive to people would be wrong.

I think Christian is the mod who pays attention to the Cooler, sorta like MadGez/xiayun are for the BO related forums.

For anyones information, I dont make it a habit to judge someones posts based on their friendship with me or popularity. A quote to someone can be judged depending on the nature of it and how aggressive it is. I look at those thats reported because it would be extremely hard to browse 100 threads. I also dont like the unwritten code of calling someone who reports a thread a rat or a snake because they do have some legitimate concern for the forum and makes monitoring the threads easier

I would DEFINITELY not want that. I'd want it to be a fair trial, for sure.

If I was telling someone new to fuck off in a thread equally to how they were saying fuck off to me in that thread, we'd deserve the exact same punishment. Reputation doesn't matter. We both did the same crime.

It means that in some instances Christian mediates between most parties privately since he understands the nature of things. Im the one who comes in with the samurai sword and slashes everyone when all else fails. No thats not quite the way. We usually discuss on bans as a whole group

I monitor the Water Cooler as much as I could and most of the time, it's been rather peaceful. But when situations arise, I sort things out behind the scenes with the posters involved. Sometimes something big happens, I always bring them to the attention of the mods and admins for their input. It's not an easy task.

Indeed. Christian has put in alot of work in the Cooler and it is very hard work especially with 100s of post each day generated in the water cooler but all the burden shouldnt be placed on the mods which was why the report button is used

I judge someones posts towards me based on their relationship with me.
