Tiger = Spoiled Baby.

This win is the end of his lucky streak, and the last of his PGA career - - he's pulling a Dave Duval from here on in...

That's two big losses in a row for Woods - - my prediction is well on it's way to coming true. Don't expect anymore wins for Tiger in 2008, or any year - - the only question remaining is how badly he's going to lose each time until he finally gives up... :hahaha:

Except for a couple lucky putts this past weekend, my prediction is 100% on track.

Although it's bad news for the Europeans - - without that sour team member Limpy, dragging them down, the Americans' chances in the Ryder cup just got a big boost. Also, bad news for his wife, who has to listen to him whine in her face for a whole year now...

So. The Open starts today.

My picks: Lee Westwood, Graeme McDowell, Robert Karlsson and Jimenez. I'm 99% sure a European will come through

My top 3: Lee Westwood, Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia. Yeah, I know, not exactly going out on a limb.

Many players who teed off early were met with tougher conditions. They expect the same tomorrow, so perhaps it will even out.

Can Vegas please stop making Els and Mickelson top 5 odds-maker favorites now? I'd put more faith in John Daly winning another major at this point.

Nice to see Mediate near the top again! And Greg Norman :noway:

Look like the weather is going to get worse this weekend before getting better. I think an even-par like 10 years ago will definitely win this, and another Carnoustie like winning score (+6) is possible too.

I'm pissed that our local hero Martin Kaymer started in the worst weather possible. Hopefully the early starters tomorrow will get blown off the course

...and your 54-hole-leader is Greg Norman. Unbelievable. Final Flight with last year's champion Harrington tomorrow. If it's still windy Norman can win this baby

People said with Tiger gone for the year that The majors without him would be uneventful, but this is a great story.
Go Norman!

Quote:
A Norman win would arguably top Tiger Woods's U.S. Open triumph from a month ago, and it might even surpass Jack Nicklaus's 1986 Masters triumph at age 46. Nicklaus hadn't won a major in six years when he shot 30 in the gloaming on the back nine at Augusta National and won his 18th professional major title. Norman, seven years older than Nicklaus was then, hasn't won a major in 15 years.

Who believes the blue part of this quote?

IMO, NOTHING in golf is ever going to surpass what Tiger did at the US Open last month. He played 90 holes of golf over 5 days on a leg with a minor fracture and a knee with a torn ligament. It's just unreasonable to think Norman would even be in the contest if Tiger were able to be playing right now so to even dare to compare that a Norman win here would top the consistency, resiliency and competitiveness of a Tiger Woods is utterly ridiculous and stupid to me.

I'm not sure if it'd beat Nicklaus's either. The reason Norman's in this is because the weather's crazy and he's just hitting steady, par rounds. Whereas Nicklaus had to shoot a 65 on the last day and finished at -9. And the difference between 46 and 53 isn't huge in golf... you're still middle aged.

You could also make the case that the the players have gotten better and more reliant on strength since 86, though.

I'll withhold my opinion till 2029, and wait to see how Eldrick "Limpy" Woods performs when he's playing from a wheelchair at 53...

:funny:

Are you kidding?

- This isn't merely the Masters - - it's the world's premiere golf tournament - -The Open!
- Nicklaus had won two major just 6 years before
- He had played most of the majors up till his '86 wins, and after as well
- Norman hasn't played any majors in recent years
- Norman's current world golf ranking is 646th
- Norman's history of disappointments in Majors
- The weather is extreme

Go, Greg, Go!!!
