Maybe, maybe not. Rivers said that if Rondo isn't ready to go (he will be) he might consider starting Tony Allen. Now, I think any rational fan would much rather have Rajon Rondo in there (and he will be), but when Rondo missed a game earlier this year in LA against the Lakers, Tony Allen covered Kobe Bryant. He held him to 6 for 25 shooting and the Celtics won 110-91. That means either Ray Allen or Paul Pierce would bring up the ball on offense. The only problem with starting TA though is that you lose a bit (that might be putting it midly) on offense, though they did score 110 in that game. Of course that probably wouldn't happen again though. If you thought the Lakers were doubling Pierce and Garnett in Game 3, just wait for when Allen is in there.

But yeah, I'd rather have Rondo in there.

I do think Rondo will be fine for tomorrow though. He's not going to be 100%, but I think he'll be good enough. He said during practice today that it's felt better with rest, so hopefully by tomorrow he'll be good enough to beat Fisher up the floor.

True. A win is a win. But as I said, it was a desperation game for the Lakers. Kobe and Sasha showed up. Who else on the Lakers did? Once again, a win is a win, but can you count on Sasha coming up big again in Game 4? And will Pierce and Garnett struggle as much again? If Gasol or Odom step up, that problem pretty much goes away. But if they haven't shown up for the first three games of the NBA Finals, they're probably not showing up.

I thought Gasol was pretty good the first two games, or at least as good as he's been all playoffs. Only averaging 17ppg these playoffs, but has a knack for big baskets and rebounds and does a lot of good passing.

Odom's clearly punked out though, he looks like he did when he had the pressure of being Kobe's #2, after Gasol came it was like that huge weight got lifed off him, but the finals is screwing him up now.

Gasol was pretty good offensively in those first two games. His defense cancelled it out though. In Game 3 he kind of got away with it because the Celtics were shooting so terribly (granted, a good part of this had to do with the Lakers defense, but on any given day I like our chances against them especially since I don't see Pierce having another six point game again) although he didn't do much on offense.

The Celts are playing terrible, they have to stop looking for calls, even when they seem blatant (like the one Doc got a T on) they can't give up on it. The game isn't lost yet, but if there down by more than 15 at half it probably is.

Lakers up big and Kobe has only scored 3 points. I don't think the Celtics can come back. I still think the Lakers will win all three games at home.

This is the Celtic-road team we're used to. of course, it doesn't really matter because they have two more games at home and they're probably going to win both of those.

If it gets to a seven game though you can throw that all out the window. 7 games can be very unpredictable.

How the F'ing hell do the Lakers LET themselves get the f'ing outscored 36-13 since 5:05 remaining in the 3rd quarter!!!!

Up by F'ing 20 F'ing points with 5:05 F'ing minutes remaining in the 3rd. What the F'ing hell is happening?

I'm only this pissed because I'm in ultra serious deadly danger of losing a bet to a friend AGAIN!

I've previously lost due to the NY Giants getting in the way of destiny and the Miami Heat losing to Detroit about 3 years ago. Another 20 F'ing dollars to his F'ing pockets.

F'ing Hell. Hulk better not suck.

Heck, why does everything I pick to win turn to Crap on me?

Federer, Williams', Sharapova, Kuznetzova, Jankovic, Tiger Woods, The Patriots, The Miami Heat, The OU Sooners, and now the F'ing Lakers.

:(

Just want to say that was a pretty amazing athletic move by Allen when he drove and like triple-pumped before sneaking the ball in from the other side.

How much does this damage the legacy of Kobe Bryant?

He still hasn't won an NBA championship without ONeal and you would have thought with a team like this that he could have yet they've played terrible in the finals and his play has been less than stellar.

I'm just disgusted with everything.

What other great comeback was Pierce a part of? He mentioned that in the post game interview.

If the Celtics were to win this series, all you would have to do is point to this game versus game 2. The Celtics tonight were able to capitalize one the Lakers choking their lead away, unlike in Game 2 when the Celtics held on despite the onslaught.

Pierce I think had 3 points in the 1st half and whatever else after. He was very integral besides Powe and the other dude hitting key shots. Well deserved for the Celtics. At least they'll get to add to the history of that franchise and I think it's pretty clear Paul Pierce has been the MVP of finals, no?

I didn't see the interview. But if you're not speaking sarcastically about the lack of output from Pierce, 2002 ECF against the Nets from 21 down.

Huge difference between game 2 and game 4: Boston collapsed in 4th quarter in game 2. LAL collapsed in 3rd quarter. If Boston had collapsed in the fourth quarter, they probably would have lost the game like LA did today.

And honestly, it's not even a matter of "if" anymore. There is NO way Lakers win this thing. Just no way. I'm willing to bet everything I own at this point that Celtics win it.

Well have fun with that, but as a very superstitious kid from Massachusetts no way will I be that confident. ;)

Honestly, this is why I never have liked basketball. It's just ridiculously bad and can be so uncompetitive.

And how people STILL can't see how rigged it is, is beyond me. Wake up people.
