Tony Romo is on his way to breaking 100...

Timberlake and Lauer? Not so much...

Romo shoots an 84, 4 higher than anyone who made the cuts highest score.

Timberlake with a 98.

Lauer with a 100.

The seperation between Tiger and the next highest ranked players is sad. I mean everyone is still marginally pretty good enough to contend and win at one of these majors, but no-one's even close to being a consistent conteder. I mean, Phil's supposed to be golden #2, has he even been in contention once since that legendary US Open fuck-up? It's hilarious to see the "match-up" between him and Tiger hyped up every major, it's just not happening. Adam Scott hasn't done very much. Ernie and Vijay? So 2003. Goosen's been there a couple times, but not *that* much. Ogilvy, Harrington, Garcia hang around the top 20 in these things a lot, they're probably the closest, but I dunno. I'm kind of hoping Westwood is the real deal for that reason, give us some kind of competitor for this guy.

It's not that the rest of the field isn't good... It's that Tiger is better than anyone could have dreamed. There will never be anyone who matches his accomplishments. It's a mystery why people just can't enjoy this, because we are LIVING in history, history that will NEVER be repeated.

Well, it's probably game over, though you have to expect one of these years he'll blow a lead going into Sunday, or win from behind. Just once.

But it probably won't happen here. Tiger is like the Zen master of Torrey Pines. He's won the last 4 PGA events here and won the Buick 6 times overall. Yeah, I don't see him blowing this one.

I think this is the most likely time it would happen, simply because I don't expect him to make two long putts for eagle (one around 70 feet) and chip in for birdie again. There's 5 shots right there that probably won't be found this round. Also, his knee will be the worst it's probably been this week, so that will affect him as well. I would still pick Tiger to win, but I don't think he'll run away with it.

I don't expect him to make 3 double bogey's either.

...Okay?

I like this game: I don't expect him to make 18 holes in one either!

Your turn again.

You are criticizing him because he had eagles and birdies and that they were somehow lucky. And I'm just saying that how often has he ever double bogeyed?!

Tiger CAN run away with this, with how the course is playing today, I think he can get to 5 or 6 under for the tournament, with nobody within 4 shots from him

I am not criticizing him because he made those lengthy putts, I'm just saying and others have as well, that he can't expect to make those all the time. I mean, I doubt his putts made over 50ft stat is at 100%, so he does miss them.

Tiger himself said that chip in at 17 was lucky, so I guess you better use that combo exclamation/question mark on him too.

And you can't expect him to make any more double bogeys. I still don't understand what you're NOT getting about this. He CAN expect to make those putts, because he knows he can. And he CAN expect to not make double bogeys, because he DOESN'T do that. He has ALWAYS made those long, extraordinary putts.

Okay you convinced me Tiger can't make double bogeys, because he expects not to, and he can make lengthy putts because he knows he can.

Why bother even playing this final round?

Why doesn't he just expect not to make any bogeys either? Wouldn't that save him a lot of trouble?

He doesn't even need to play the final round, you're right. He's already won.

in this tournment he made double bogey 3 times already (twice in 1st and once yesturday).
i would expect him to make another one today.

i would expect him to win (odds in his favor) but with that knee injury i wouldn't be surprised if he blows his first sunday major lead.

Doubting Tiger :disgust:

Never a smart thing to do. People are expecting him to struggle with his injury, and he knows that. Which is why he is going to follow yesterday with a solid performance and an outright win for his dad.

how high would this win be in his career if he does it today?

injured and not having played since the Masters. it'd be top 3.

Yeah, keep rooting against him.

Then when you grow old, and people are talking about how hey cheered for Tiger during one of the greatest US Open performance ever, you can say that you cheered against him.

I think it'll take at least a month for him to get used to the robotic implants he had installed into his knee. Obviously showing a little newbie rust.

He's 6 over on his front nine in the first 3 rounds.

He's 9 under on his back nine in the first 3 rounds.
