 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
It's a shame the refs had to fuck up the ending.
I'd say on the whole the Lakers deserved to win the game, but they really fucked up that last minute.

The refs are not going to call a foul on a hail-Mary three pointer. Even if it was a foul, it should be good for only two as he recollected himself and then shot. It was not a foul in the act of shooting.

he should've (like the guys on tnt r saying) jumped into Fisher to get a call instead of trying to go around him.

I did listen to the guys at TNT talk a little bit about it after the game and I guess in the refs defense, Barry did a horrible job of selling the call. It was still a blown call though, even if it would've resulted in two shots instead of three.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
Popovich just said the refs made the right call. Fisher knows what he's doing.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
Pop just doesn't want to stoop to blaming the refs, Fisher elbowed in the head and landed on him on his way to a shot and it clearly made him throw up a much shittier one. That call gets made 100 out of 100 times in the middle of a game.

Yes that was a foul, he jumped up to block the shot or fake and landed on the guy with the foul.
= Foul.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
Pops doesn't want to get fined by the league for disagreeing.
It was obviously a 2 shot foul, he practically landed on Barry without Barry even initiating any type of contact afterwards. Fisher can shoot someone on the court during crunch time and he'll get away with it.
Whatever Barry would've done to make that look more like a foul he still wouldn't have gotten the foul call.

Boston - Detriot Game 5 at Boston - very interesting with series tied at 2.
Detriot has now won at Boston and hopefully they can step up to a great game.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
Well that was all kinds of frightening. It's great and extremely important that we got the win, but the Celtics were practically trying to give that game away in the final few minutes. I don't know what the hell Rondo was thinking, but someone has to tell him to stop floating the ball when the opposing team is trying desperately to create a turnover, and just continue to make crisp passes. And the defense just stopped playing too. 31 fourth quarter points given up at home, in a must-win game, is just unacceptable.
On the plus side though, Perkins had the game of his life and Allen finally got going again tonight. Hopefully that will continue into Game 6. If the Celtics bring the same intensity that they brought to the first three quarters of this game and just flesh it out into a complete effort, I like their chances in Game 6. They need to go into it thinking it's a must-win though because I expect the Pistons to come out firing. That and it'd be nice to avoid another Game 7.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
Big question for game 6 - how is that Hamilton who hurt his arm at the end of game 5.
- I don't watch alot of games but I really hate watching basketball as the refs really piss me off - they make bs calls and then they miss the same bs call.
The refs are just horrible overall.

Another myth. Domestic players flop just as much, but some foreigners are just under more spotlight. In other news, I love it.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
That was a good game 5 between Celts and Pistons, but obviously wasn't the outcome I was looking for. The Celts shot lights out. They always seem to come through when they need to. I just hope it goes to game 7... Pistons have definitely shown it doesn't bother them to play in Boston, so I know they *can* win in that situation! It's definitely going to suck if the Pistons lose for the 3rd year in a row to another 'one hit wonder' team.
