Hard to imagine Pistons could win when Pierce, Allen, and KG combined for 75pts shooting over 50%.

Big victory for Pistons, hard to imagine Cs winning in Detroit. Pistons seem totally game for this series unlike the last two where they just seemed very nonchalant.

But on the above, those 3 were the only 3 that were scoring.

It's time for a completely random Kyle Korver picture break:

Definitely two qualities you look for in an NBA player!

I honestly can't imagine that curling up in a fetal position is that successful of a defense, but then again, I'd probably strike the same pose if you threw me out in an NBA court - especially if I was wearing knee high black socks.

It really reminds me of Buster's defense mechanism:

(It actually reminds me more of how George Michael reacts when something is tossed his way, but I can't remember what episode that was in.)

Man, I thought the Spurs would've put up at least a little bit of a fight tonight after blowing that lead. Who would've expected them to lose by 30? The Lakers look like their on cruise control right now. Hopefully the Spurs can come up with a little something at home.

They blew their chance to win a game in LA during their first visit in game 1, there was no way they were going to come close to pulling one off in game 2. They now need to go home, take care of business and go back on the road with their spirits up and try again.

This will be a mirror image to the Spurs series against the Suns just 2 rounds ago.

Great game tonight for the Celts, they needed this win badly. I full expect the series to come back to Boston tied 2-2, and think it will go 7 games but now neither the Celts or Pistons feel safe at home. Should be a great series.

Pistons shot absolutely HORRIBLE tonight.

They couldn't finish the Detroit sweep.

I'm not sure Detroit can win this with a half-mast Billups

Detroit ALWAYS does this. They play like crap for an entire game like they don't care, and then they turn it up when they need to.

They'll win big on Monday.

Yeah, I'm sure Detroit will turn it up at the right time, like they did against Miami and Cleveland.

Oh wait.

Well, I didn't see that coming! :(

It's definitely going to be an uphill climb for the Pistons now. They'll have to win 3 in a row to avoid a game 7. I don't see that happening. They could win a game 7 in Boston, but I definitely wouldn't bet the farm on it. Either way, it's going to be a tough road now.

Well if nothing else, that game proves the Celtics do deserve to go the final, if they get there. Making it without winning a road game would've been kind of weak.

On the bright side whenever the Celtics have won the second game and gone up 2-0 they've proceeded to lose the next game. Maybe tied they can finally win a game on the road! :funny:

I'm a genius. :funny:

Well the monkey is finally off the back. The should've won at least two road games before this (the one's in Atlanta still remain inexcusable) but at least they've finally got one under their belt. And even though the Pistons made a decent comeback in the fourth (it was nice to see the Celtics still win the game by 14 and especially great to see Ray Allen get the final shot to go in even though he played a fantastic game defensively) they at least finished off the game when they needed to.

I'm not sure what the expect for Game 4. All I know is that if the Celtics have the same effort that they did last night, they should probably get a win, but I expect the Pistons to come out with a much better effort. And with that in mind, Flip Saunders needs to start Stuckey instead of Billups. Remind me again how a defensive breakdown for the Celtics with Perkins guarding Billups at half court leads to a Perkins steal and a Celtics hoop? That just shouldn't happen.

Is there ever going to be a close game in the Lakers/Spurs series, or is Game 1 as close as we're going to get?

San Antonio has been ridiculous at home these playoffs, this series could very well still go 7.

Hey Kill, would you give us Biedrins (+ a combination of Barnes, Pietrus, Patrick O'Bryant to make the salaries work) for Ford and Bargnani? Warriors trade a player who can't play Nellieball for two that are practically born for it. Ford could replace Davis as PG if he opts out and would fit perfectly with his speed (which we don't use), Bargnani gets to play under the guy who coached Dirk to stardom in a perfect system for his strengths. And I would cream my pants over building around Calderon, Bosh, Biedrins, and having a real defensive/rebounding center over the problem of trying to fit Bargnani at C in the future when he's clearly too soft to play anything but PF (even if he turned into a 20ppg player him and Bosh playing at the same time would never be strong enough defensively to contend, that's why the pick was shit from day 1. And he can't even play with Bosh anyways.)

Makes sense to me.

Post Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
Tonight's game really didn't surprise me except for how poorly the Celtics shot the ball. If they shoot at 40% for the game they take another game in Detroit based on how often they went to the line tonight. I think anyone who watched the game could easily say that the game was much closer than the 94-75 score indicated. The Celtics can get by without Ray Allen shooting the ball well. But when both Garnett and Pierce go cold in addition to Allen, forget it. And the odd thing was the Celtics still had a chance within the final five minutes.

Overall though the Celtics did what they absolutely had to do in Detroit and that's win a game. It would've been nice to grab this game tonight, but at least they have home court advantage again. Now they just need to go out and win Game 5.

The game was NOT as close as the score showed.

Detroit dominated, just like Boston dominated game 3.

The only difference is that Detroit shot HORRIBLY on their own in game 3, while Boston shot HORRIBLY because of Detroit's defense in game 4.

Then you clearly didn't watch the game. The Pistons lead was between 5-10 points throughout the entire second half as compared to the Celtics lead in Game 3 which ranged anywhere from 25 to 9. It wasn't until Billups' three when the Pistons could breathe a sigh of relief. Then the Celtics substituted the starters, the Pistons scored six more points and inflated the score.

The difference between Game 3 and 4 were the Pistons never had a chance of winning. The Celtics did have a chance to win tonight, but the Pistons held them off. Billups' three sealed the deal.

Strangely enough I think the Pistons have looked more focused on the road so far this series than at home. I don't think home court means that much in this series right now (except maybe if it gets to Game 7 in Boston), both teams have proven they can win on each other's. So it should be a true best of 3 showdown. Should be fun.
