Re: The NHL 07/08 thread I think it would be bad for the Pittsburgh franchise if they won the cup. They are just starting as a monster franchise and if they win now, those expectations will weigh on them for the rest of their careers.

I hope the Pens learn from their mistakes tomorrow night. I think it's impressive that they held the Red Wings off for 30 minutes. Now they need to double that number and add in a few goals of their own.

Re: The NHL 07/08 thread This is a beatdown... I would've never thought my Red Wings in 5 prediction would be conservative! Doesn't even feel like Pittsburgh or the East is in the same league. In the season it came off as "The East is faster and leaner", but now it's more like "The East doesn't play with half the defensive system that the West does." I think Datsyuk and Zetterberg are the best pairing or maybe even players aside from Ovechkin in the league right now... they have too much control and are too good defensively. But I'm still happy for them. They made it past three more rounds than I thought they would initially, so. They've done well. And I'm not counting out a comeback on home ice.
